Pretty much those big toroidal copper thingies can mechanically expand/contract with certain currents at certain frequencies passing through, and this vibration causes the sound you hear. Next time specify if it's TX650, TX650-C, TX650 V2, HX650, or AX650, (yes it makes a difference) though that really doesn't matter in this case. edit: forgot TX650M ![]() | ||

oh no mine definitely isnt making that noise. i can tell its not a mechanical problem like a fan hitting something, its a sort of electric sound similar to the coil whine is it worth to RMA my psu though? im afraid that it would end up making the same noise as this seems to be a common occurance | ||
