I did a search and looked through every topic but no one seems to have my problem. One guy on the GOM forums has it but no one has replied and I really want to watch Code A for the foreigners.
Basically I can't click the orange button for SQ live, it just doesn't open anything anymore. I tried reinstalling the player, restarting, everything but nothing gets it to work. I can't get to the GOM player through that link. Tried it in every browser, chrome just doesn't let me click it, opera says 'The address type is unknown or unsupported', and Firefox says 'gomcmd is not a registered protocol'.
I've googled and TL searched for half an hour to no avail, so this was my last stop for help.
If anyone has any ideas then they're very much appreciated.
Thanks guys.
EDIT: I linked gomcmd to the gom player in applications and it now opens the player when i click SQ, but only on firefox, however it now says 'Failed to install Gomtv streamer', and then 'error code 0x00000051 cannot play this media file' etc. Checked everywhere for solutions to this but none of them are working for me. Any ideas?

If your on Mac, you have to use safari.
Or, if your on windows, I dunno.
On mac they made a change where you couldn't launch the GOM player from a new version of safari, so therefore you had to open the page with an old version of GOM player. With safari, you used the develop tab to open using user agent and then press safari 5.0.6
Hope I helped

I'm on windows thanks for your help anyway.

I'm on mac and gave up on solving this issue. If I would've had already paid for the season, I would be seriously pissed though I can't open older versions of either programs (Safari or GOM player)...

I had the same problem, what I did to fix it was uninstall GOMTVSTREAMER not the GOMPLAYER then load the stream and it will automatically install GOMTVSTREAMER and then it worked for me.

That solution didn't work either . Really want to watch GSL tonight so if anyone could help me before it starts I'd be really thankful.

I had an issue running the streamer on windows vista, had to right click the gom player open it as adimistrator and then click on the link on the GOM site. Worked fine since then when i have run it is admin.

This didn't work either, but thanks for the suggestion.

i use google chrome, and for some reason it doesn't work when i open it with google chrome
i have no clue why this happens, since gom player doesn't have to do with my browser as far as i know O.o, but anyways i used firefox and it worked so hopefully this helps

As I wrote in the OP, when i try it on firefox is says that 'gomcmd is not a registered protocol'. I've googled that but I don't find anything. Completely lost and so frustrated. Seems like no one else has or has had my problem too.

Hey I had a similar problem.
I'm using the Opera Browser with Win Vista. My Problem: When I tried to launch the Free Stream of GOMTV to see GSL, GOM Player started, but no stream was loading.
What I did to solve my Problem: First uninstall GOMTV Streamer, then launch the GOM.exe as administrator, use Firefox to start the Free Stream. GOM Player then requested to install GOM TV Streamer, install GOM TV Streamer. After this I got the error msg and code mentioned by nuMi22. But NOW just reclick the Free Stream Button on the gomtv website as long as the stream starts. It worked for my after my second try.
