This has been happening recently and I really do not understand why. It's kinda hard to describe, but my mouse is essentially dropping when holding down.
Example of what my mouse problem is, take an icon on your desktop. Click and hold and drag it up and down. Do it quickly. Do it slowly. What happens with my mouse is that while dragging up and down, the mouse will drop the icon. Especially when moving quickly. Sometimes my mouse will drop the icon and "pick" it up. But what this does is drops the icon, and then starts creating a blue box on the desktop. Other times the drop and "pick up" of the icon will be so quick, it'll double click the icon.
I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it.
I uninstalled the driver and used the standard windows driver.
None of that worked.
The mouse is pretty new, like a month old.
This only started happened recently. the only thing I did to my mouse recently, was I set the the dpi to the highest it could go, and then lowered the windows and in game sensitivity.
I've ignored this problem for a bit, but I just lost a game because of it and was freaking furious. I really need to understand why this is happening.
I know this sounds stupid, but are you sure you're holding the button down the entire way? The buttons take some wearing in and i had the same issue of half clicking constantly until i got used to it.
I had the same problem with my previous DeathAdder and it really is a pain in the ass to deal with. Like you, I tried a lot of things to fix it but couldn't come up with a solution for it. Eventually I just gave up and bought a new one (3.5G version this time, as the previous mouse was rather old).
I know this didn't help you directly but I just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one. The problem is most likely a flaw in the design, as I haven't heard of such problems with any other mouse besides the DeathAdder. I think you should contact Razer's customer service to confirm if the problem really isn't fixable like I concluded when I was dealing with it. Maybe they will send you a new mouse, maybe not, but atleast you wont be left guessing whether you can fix it yourself or not.
Sometime i have the same problem and other like double click with rolling button.
First problem with drop i just take cable of mouse and stretch it, and work fine. Second problem i just open mouse and take some :mod" on clicking button :D
You could try updating drivers AND firmware first. If that doesn't solve anything it's time to use the warranty.

That's a bad idea. You should set the windows sens. to 6/11 and SC2 sens to 51-54% for maximum accuracy.
I am sorry for stealing your thread but I just ran into a problems as well.
Anyone experiencing bad tracking movement on your mouse? What happens sometimes is that my mouse just randomly move to one side when I lift my mouse. This problem happens during the games so it must be some sutble and swift movement that makes it happens.
All drivers and firmwares are up to date and I am using the mouse on a qck cloth pad.
Ok, so I realize that this post is pretty dam old. But I fidled around with the mouse and i hapend to find a sulution to the problem. The thing is that it is hardware related. When you press the left mouse click a little sprint will then push a button to register the click, I opened the mouse up and pressed the litte button manualy and sudenly it worked.
So what you have to do is pretty much to somehow ad something to the button which makes it easier for the sprint to press and hold the button down, personally I think it worked fine with some old fasioned tape.
If you are insecure about how to open the mouse up here is a link to a quick video:
This reminds me of a "working" Death Adder (according to the post above) that I have sitting in its box. I ended up buying another one when my first one started having this problem. Maybe I should fix it and sell it, or just sell it as is...
same issue here, if you press down with normal pressure, the dragging will 'skip' and basicly fail. If you press down really hard, it seems to be good, but you don't really want to have to press down really hard all the time...
Gonna try putting some tape on the pressing mechanism, if that doesn't work I'm gonna look for other brands of mice, cause this isn't really something I want to deal with :/
[edit] tried it, didn't work, too little tape: same issue: too much tape oversensitive mouse button, plus my hands are too fat for this... >_<
It's just a result of the mouse getting old. I had an older deathadder and it was doing the same thing. It was also "double-clicking" when I only clicked it once. It's just a result of the mouse getting dirty/worn. I bought the DeathAdder 2013 and it's working fine. Problems with my old deathadder didn't start appearing until after a few years.
Just take it apart and clean it. If that doesn't work then just replace it. Mice don't last that long if you use it every day with heavy use. It should last a few years but eventually it will start to fail especially if you don't clean it that often.
