I've never had a problem with this issue on Logitech gaming issues (gaming mode disables alt+Tab on them) - the razer website specifically says :
The Razer BlackWidow features a “gaming mode” that allows the deactivation of the Windows key for specific applications, preventing it from being pressed accidentally during games, so the user does not get alt-tabbed to desktop at critical moments.
Gaming mode disables the windows key so it's only working half way for me but alt+tab still works. Using Windows 7. Although I guess if you look at it, it just says the Windows key is disabled, nothing else. What a useless feature..

Alt+tab is a saying. It simply means that your game minimizes.
The gaming mode works just like it is supposed to, it disabled the 'windows key' on your keyboard. NOT the alt+tab combination.
I guess you could say that they 'worded' it wrong. But it makes perfect sense to me.

I feel like it's kind of hard to alt tab accidentally. I guess if you use both of those keys in a setup maybe you could do it, but then again why would do that? Some games like SC2 have an option to disable alt+tab.
|
Well, a lot of people do struggle with the Windows key issue (I remember Flash talking about having that issue and talking about it in an interview. Wouldn't say it's a completely useless "mode" though.
|
Why would you want to disable alt+tab? its impossible to do that accidentally. It disables the windows button just as it is supposed to.
In your quote it even says it disables the windows key from alt+tabing the game -.-
|
I think the wording is to give a understanding to those who never pressed the windows key during a game but hopefully know what alt-tab means.
|
I have a BlackWidow and I turn gaming mode on but I use alt-tab all the time. I wouldn't like to have to switch out of gaming mode after every game to be able to do stuff in the background.
|
As ithers have said, it s pretty hard to alt tab accidentally. Especially for sc 2 where the alt button is not really used. Plus most gamers like alt tabbing to checkout their fb page, the tl page, or just chat while waiting for another game

LMFAO. You have to be trolling me dude. Seriously...I honestly recommend you should read more than 2 times what you quote, DO NOT take punctuation marks for granted. English is not my mother language yet I totally get it when they say " The Razer BlackWidow features a “gaming mode” that allows the deactivation of the Windows key for specific applications, preventing it from being pressed accidentally during games, so the user does not get alt-tabbed to desktop at critical moments." COMMON!!!
“GAMING MODE” - allows the deactivation of the Windows key - which prevents it from being pressed accidentally during games - THEREFORE - the user does not (GET alt-tabbed) to desktop.

GAMING MODE Razer keyboards feature a 'Gaming Mode' that allows the deactivation of the Windows key, as well as the ‘Alt+Tab’ and ‘Alt+F4’ combo for specific applications, preventing them from being pressed accidentally during games, so you don’t get ’bounced back' to the desktop at critical moments. This lets you play with a peace of mind, without frustrating surprises.

but we still can use ‘Alt+Tab’ and ‘Alt+F4’ in gaming mode LOL
