These are the ones I mostly use when fighting viruses/spyware etc. Everything is either free or have free trial, some can be booted from USB if needed.

Every time I boot my computer, it gets to the windows 10 loading thing and then my monitors go black. I then restart my computer and it works fine.

Any thoughts?

Can't generally route the 24 pin cable behind the tray if it's very shallow. You'd also be better off routing the white cables along the top so they're not over top the 24. Basically if you're going to try to put that cable along the back then everything else needs to go around it.

After not using it for a while, i just started my laptop again in an open space at university. I just wanted to do something for 30 minutes, and then get something to eat.

And for the last 2 hours, some windows update has been installing (It would have been really nice if it had actually asked me if now was a good time to do that...)

I am hungry, i can't leave my laptop unattended at this place, i need to get going in about half an hour, and the update is getting slower and slower (It has now gone from 81 to 87% in the last half-hour)

How bad would it be to shut down my laptop, despite the update explicitly telling me not to do that?

And who the fuck thinks starting a 3 hour update during which i am not allowed to turn the PC off or disconnect it without asking me if i have time to do that is a good idea?

I have 50mbit Internet since yesterday. Somehow it is slower than 6mbit I had before when I only visit sites but 50mbit is much much better at downloads.

It is possible that you have higher bandwidth, but also higher latency. For most websites, the bandwidth is not that relevant since there is not a lot of data to be transferred. How fast they display is based mostly on how fast stuff reacts to your demands for data and how fast your PC is in handling that data (If your PC is not a toaster, that shouldn't be a problem)

Do you also have higher latency in games?

I'll try later with the games.
wieistmeineip.de shows 14ms three times. I dont see the difference at my pc, but my tablet is very very slow. Both are connected via WLAN (no other options).

Edit: Diablo3 Solo= 35-38ms, 4man group 38-43ms. Better than before (50-64ms). My tablet is the problem.

Edit2: I think IPv6 is the reason. I think 6mbit never had IPv6.

I had it running 2.5yrs before and it sucked. Just curious.

64 bit should be the default these days. Some games don't even have a 32 bit client any more.

During the LOTV beta the 32 bit client was running notably faster but AFAIK 64 bit is fixed now

what kind of an air cpu cooler can I get which doesn't block first pcie slot and nearest ram slot? are 92mm fan ones safe bet? what about something like this (its a 120mm fan):

I was looking at these last week actually. The Noctua D9L came up as one of the better compact coolers, one on the right:

^next to its big brother, the D15

zero overhang on RAM or pci-e IIRC

I think that with a regular sized board and case even the D15 will fit and not cover the PCI-E. Although it overhangs a couple of RAM slots part of the heatsink is cut out to allow for RAM up to a certain size and you can run it in the center-fan-only config which still performs excellently for performance and performance-per-noise, so even high end heatsinks are an option.

I started out looking at the cryorig c7 copper

which also fits easily but reviews didn't look good against the D9L

I have only silverstone ar06 available that's somehow has comparable profile with c7. The reviews are not that good although currently I'm underclocking my cpu with the stock fan so it should be an improvement :/

how real an issue is carrying the case with a small tower cooler like D9L? I'd like to throw the case in my suitcase from time to time
