The 1024x768 boot issue, I battled with that, and on my PC here it seems it has to do with the newer "UEFI" which replaces BIOS nowadays. My graphics card (GTX 680) does not have a video-BIOS that plugs into that new UEFI thingy and the board can't set a high resolution. There's no way to fix it here. It might be the same for you.

For practical reason I want to plug my graphic card in the second PCIe slot and not in the first one. Is there any reason the motherboard won't like it? As it is pcie 3.0 x8 I won't have any performance issue if this works. Thank you Edit : google seems to say it should works

I'm pretty confident nothing is miss-seated, especially the CPU.

Also in a maybe related note, SLI just doesn't seem to be working. I tried with Fallout 4 and Witcher 3, but only one card heats up or shows any growth in power consumption. CPU is only 30-40% load. GPU-Z and NVIDIA Control Panel both indicate SLI is enabled. I tried tweaking some of the game-specific settings (SLI rendering mode) in the NVIDIA Control Panel but that didn't seem to do anything. Everything's running in full screen. http://imgur.com/a/Fkjpy I'm able to get Furmark to work with both properly. This is with Witcher 3 open, while getting <30 fps. + Show Spoiler + Any thoughts on either problem?

Well at least it's solved now.

Just updated my drivers on my R9 and there this new "crimson stufff" and i can't find for the hell of me where to control the fan. The cards just turn at 20% which on a R9 290X makes the card run at 90°+ which i REALLY don't like (even if i know it's normal for this card). Where can i find it ?

In my >10 years of dealing with graphics problems, never once has updating the drivers actually improved the situation, so I was basically leaving off that hassle till the end.

I tried to get another one from the french store I bought it but they didn't hear the squeaking because of the loud music in the store and told me they don't consider it as a panne (and they would not notice the click feeling different anyways) thus I can't try another one to see if with a mouse without squeaking I don't have problems clicking... They also told me RMA'ing to Cooler Master probably won't help but I don't know if it's bullshit or not, I never RMA'ed mice before... The mouse doesn't cost much but it would still be really annoying if I had to buy another one... Plus other than that I like because it's super light and the form is good. What should I do? Could RMA it help? Is it just me and other than the annoying sound the click will not be a problem if I get used to it? (I doubt it because I played like 100 games on it...)

here goes nothing: So not to long ago I have downloaded a 18.5gb movie for encoding purposes to test it against a 720p version. Since then my hdd started doing some funky things.. after a boot the pc works fine and suddenly the hdd led lights up permanently and only salvation is to reset it. first thing I did was to free up some space - didnt help as 20.9/79.9gb is free. second was to disable the anti virus but again nothing... didnt try to delete the file as dling that much with 1mb connection takes foreveeer I would like to avoid this but its a viable opton that this is the cause i could reinstall my win xp but i hardly doubt its the problem and now im writhing this on my phone. cleardiskinfo says the hdd is in good condition. the hang up began to happen in booting part sayin that hdd boot failure insert disk and press enter - this happened before and the cause was faulty psu which got switched for a more powerful one and it worked... if this is a CPU related failure im boned wih options with not much explained I ask of you to state your opinion on the matter. Thank You @edit well seems like the HDD just died on me which leaves me without pc... mobo doest recognize it since apparently the boot partition went to hell and since that happened I have no way of getting the data back... im screwed with so many things lost

Even if they boot partition isn't recognized, as long as bios recognizes that its plugged in, you could potentially recover data fairly easily.
