Dump file size is too small - requires at least 597568407 bytes
edit: Only if I watch on fullscreen. Win7 64. I know that this only happens when I watch on pepperflash.
Could be memory issue, which makes some weird sense since Chrome likes to eat a lot of RAM. Download http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html and post what you see there. Also would be good idea to download Memtest (or Hiren's Boot CD or anything similiar), boot your computer from USB stick or CD and then perform a scan for few hours.

Yeah, mine increased a couple times before stopping at 4015 and it's been that way for years. Don't really trust it but it's fine as a media dump drive

I already started taking backup and a new HDD will arrive on Thursday,
Thank you everyone. Hopefully this will solve the 0x7b issue

I'm using firefox and I have Flash set to "ask to activate", but I accidentally gave TL full permission to activate and now I can't find a way to revoke it. I'm getting a whole bunch of those stupid fucking video ads now and it lags my internet and browser to shit. How do I reset TL's permission?
|
Right click while on TL (so here) --> "view page info" --> "permissions" --> Adjust to your preferences

My fans (1 case + Heatsink's fans) won't stop spinning even when the computer is shut down. Any idea what to do ?
I've reverted back all my overclock settings (the fans issue started when I overclocked) to default settings, without changes.

Try to see what happens if you disable the "fast startup" feature in the Windows control panel in the power options section on the screen where you define what the power button does.

I'm planning on turning it into external HDD and save some stuff on it, it is a 500 GB after all, should not go to waste... yet

Look into something like SyncToy that can be used to automate mirroring files to a secondary location (i.e. another drive). Never want to have files you're not willing to lose in a single location, especially in the case of a dubious drive.

Don't really trust it but it's fine as a media dump drive I read somewhere last week on The Internet that drives have errors like these along a certain kind of curve (the name of which eludes me now), where basically drives tend to have most of their errors either at the beginning of their life or near their normal EOL, but not in the middle.

I just upgraded to an R9 390 from an HD6950 2GB and have upgraded to Windows 10 as well, but now I am getting a significantly lower fps in dota 2 (20-30 fps). GPU usage (100%) and core clock (1040 MHz) look fine and gpu temp is hovering around 55 degrees C. I cleaned the drivers using DDU and am currently using driver 15.30.1025. The CPU on my system is an i5-2500k overclocked at 4.1GHz.
What could be the issue here?

Got a question that has bothered me for some time now: I'd like to watch a stream while downloading something via steam but every time i start a DL it takes up too much of the speed, therefore making the stream stutter/stop. Is there any way to "force" the stream to work properly (even if it's only on low quality) and distribute the rest of the speed to steam? I usually download with ~800 kb/s (yeah not very fast, i know), is that even enough to stream and DL at an acceptable rate (and not something like 30 kb/s)?

Steam settings --> downloads --> limit bandwitch to (select option)?

New HDD arrived, installed windows 10 on it and the same error still happens... 0xc000007b.
I kept lurking around more until I came across one of the solutions that suggest replacing some DLLs in the System32 and SysWOW64. I did that and ONE game actually started.
But others remain...
I stated to think this is an issue with the windows I have that although I did fresh Windows 10 installation on the new HDD, I had to replace some of DLLs there to get a game started, there is a possibility that there are many other DLLs are broken...
My friend had windows 7 and upgraded to windows 10 and is not having any issue. Should I do the same? Install windows 7 and then upgrade to windows 10?
I tried to install windows 8.1, make sure everything is alright and then upgrade to windows 10 if everything is good, but the same issues that happened on 10 after fixing some DLLs happened again... Only the same game worked and the others still broken...
I'm so lost at this point...

Um... No... ? Not sure why changing the SATA cable would fix the issue.....

Sometimes weird things work and I had few cases where HDD errors were actually all because of SATA cable. Always worth a try and shouldn't be expensive. Try different SATA port as well.

I would just nope my way out of anything involving manually replacing windows files. Either a repair/fresh install fixes it or there's a hardware problem. Missing or inaccessible windows files is a huge red flag about either malware or failing hardware.

Thank you everybody for your assistance. Apparently another format and doing literally everything from scratch + fully windows update before installing anything was the way to go for it. Now everything is working smoothly.
It does not seem to be an issue with any hardware failure though I'm keeping eye on everything from now on.
Though every war has its casualties, this one had too.
- I lost my Kaspersky IS key, currently contacting support in hope it is retrievable from the old HDD.
Some trivial but annoying stuff
- Windows shows that both my main and secondary HDD are ejectable, this is because I used "AHCI" mode in the BIOS, still working on a way to fix (Ideas are appreciate it ).
- Windows logo during booting is displayed as it is a 1024x768 instead of normal 1920x1080 while loading, it is really ugly when it is stretched and never did it on the old HDD (Ideas are appreciate it )
