If you're intaking through the rad you could cut them a notable amount (i've seen 15c on bad airflow setups, but 3c or even 5 here wouldn't surprise me) so if that matters to you, it's probably best to do, as long as you have some airflow on other components CPU temps are mid 60s under Prime 95 so I'm not too worried about that (I never get near that kind of load with just gaming). The goal for this is to fit the H80 onto the GPU since OC'd my 7950 (Twin Frozr, on a 7970 PCB since the power is 8+6) sometimes hit 90s under Furmark and 80s depending on the game I was playing. I didn't feel comfortable with those so I reverted to stock clocks and its currently ~60s load, 30s idle.

What clocks/volts are you running, are the vrm temps good? It might be awkward to use the h80 as an intake (is it?) but if you wanna cut a little temps, you could do that I see your problem now, options 1, 2 and 3 all look appealing

CPU 4.3 GHz I didn't want to mess around with voltages until I've got my cooling 90% figured out so I can see what I can get away with. The system isn't actually used for anything since I only got the components ~2 months ago and I've been building/tweaking on just bare Windows + utilities + Crysis 2. I'm probably going to go with option 2 since that grants the most airflow over the rest of my components as well. Just need to figure out how I can safely mount my spinning hard drive so it doesn't knock itself around with vibrations and ruin itself.

There's not enough clearance between the H100 and the front of the case so I would have to redrill the top mounting holes to move it back, but at the cost of making it a very tight squeeze to also keep the ability to have a rear exhaust fan as well. If I blocked the rear exhaust vent entirely, then I could move the H100 back far enough to make plenty of airflow clearance for a front mounted H80 The last possibility is to mount the H80 in random mesh holes (maybe print/machine a reinforcement plate) that aren't the designated 120mm mount holes. I think there's enough clearance to drop it down enough to not interfere with either the H100 on top or the bottom drive cage.

![]() the original (I converted it to .jpg as well so it would be an even comparison, I figure that's part of it but don't get why the black gunk appears) ![]() edit: I just tried doing this in paint instead and this issue didn't arise. It seems that paint's default is to save as .png (whereas irfanview was .jpg). Saving as .png in irfanview solved the issue as well. lol learning is fun... ![]()

Same compression settings I guess? Anyway, that could be a bit low for .jpg unless it's for silly scratch work where you don't care about quality. But for line art / text like that, you probably want to export as .png. Why didn't you do that in the first place?

WD, Seagate, any of the manufacturers of internal HDDs will do. Other producers of USB harddisks typically use disks of the big harddisk-manufacturers and add their own case. You don't need to limit yourself to USB2.0 drives, as USB3.0 is backwards compatible.

Was wondering if my Rosewill Capstone 450 Gold will still power it or did I bone myself in the big picture? i5- 4670k MSI z87-g41 2 x 8GB RAM GTX 780 ZOTAC Amp Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Rosewill Capstone 450W Corsair 650D Google found a review of the card where a much more power hungry CPU was used compared to yours. The PC in the review used 362W at most from the wall (so it's perhaps 80% to 90% of that number as actual power use from the point of view of the PSU). It should work fine for you. Here's the result: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1812/pg10/zotac-geforce-gtx-780-amp-edition-graphics-card-review-power-temps-noise-and-overclocking.html and that was the test system: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1812/pg2/zotac-geforce-gtx-780-amp-edition-graphics-card-review-test-system-and-methodology.html

You could get away with running like 1.2vcore on the CPU and full stock gpu with power limits, but who buys a 780 to do that? You're kinda screwed running 1.3vcore cpu and especially if you start pushing power limits up on the GPU, like you could probably do it, but you're pushing limits. You can pull like 130w through a haswell chip with high end air or an equivelant and gk110 can get power hungry enough to take you way over 80% on a capstone 450 when combined with other components Checked Ropid's links: The 362w is with stock GPU settings (not sure if you can push that particular model.. but people oc gk110 a fair bit) and it's with CPU load just from the games being played, i can't see you beating that number if you wanna push GPU a bit, clock haswell decently and max CPU and GPU simultaneously

Will get a new PSU if that ever happens and save the Capstone for a secondary PC.
