I want to open a port but for some reason it just doesn't work. I've tried just about everything, using a different browser, using a different computer, unplugging the power, etc. And yes, I've been using the correct IP-address, I even tried them all just to be sure. Why doesn't it work? | ||

The velociraptor: - VERY loud - costs about 25cents/GB (1TB model = ~$250), more per GB for the smaller 500GB and 250GB ones - is definitely noticeably faster than most HDD's, but not twice as fast or more (sometimes about twice as fast as some slower/smaller drives, but usually less than twice) With the $250 you'd spend on the 1TB drive, you could get: - a ~$110 Sata3 SSD (Crucial M4, Samsung 830, etc.) which are MUCH faster than the velociraptor - a storage drive, like the Seagate Barracuda 3TB, which is not just huge but also one of the fastest HDD's around (not too far from the velociraptor) and only costs ~$150: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st3000dm001 And then if you're looking at the 500GB and 250GB models which are ~$160 and ~$110 respectively, a big drive like that barracuda will still be better because: - it has nearly the same performance without being as loud - you get far more space - it will have better performance as more space gets used up (HDD's are fastest when they are the least full, because the reads/writes start from the inner tracks of the platters, where the data is the most dense) | ||

http://i46.tinypic.com/ji19hw.png When i run a game or something, almost all the temps go crazy (USB3 port always going to 70-80+, PCI slot also going for 70+, SATA also for 70+) Cooler i have - Hyper evo 212 plus I also installed 2 fans to the case (from the outside part), i took them from old cpu's. The case itself is never hot, its actually quite cold.. Is this software showing me incorrect temperatures or are these temps OK ? Also maybe installing those old cpu fans as case support fans is a bad idea ? P.S. might be relevant - i also got i5 2500k CPU overclocked to 4.00Ghz | ||

a) when I alt-tab out of bw and back in, the bw- screen is black. It seems the PC can change resolution from 640*480 to desktop resolution, but can't go back to bw-resolution. Sometimes I can get back in by changing resolution in the control panel to 800*600 (the lowest it will go) and then alt tab to bw which then figures out how to get to 640*480. But at other times the system says i must restart before monitor resolutions can be changed. b) I can't launch bw except in windows mode - when attempting full screen I get big error message like: Starcraft was unale to switch video modes. To correct this problem please set Desktop area to 640 * 480 abd Color Palette to 256 colors and try running Starcraft again. (...) The error encountered while trying to switch video modes was: [not implemented] vidnimo_PC.cpp line 160 SetDisplayMode. A restart fixes this, but is annoying because I usually have a lot of work and browsertabs open. Does anyone know how to fix this? Mot useful would be at least always being able to set resolutions in the control panels without reboot, because then I could play bw whenever I want without ever rebooting. | ||
