PROBLEM SOLVED --> solution in my last post on this thread
Hi, I am trying to set my Starcraft 2 stream up, but i am facing a big problem:
Using Virtual Audio Cable my Stereo mix is not sending any signals to line 1 (virtually created by VAC). before i go into details, here are my computer specifications:
+ Show Spoiler + AMD Phenom II X6 (6 cores) 3.2 GHz 8 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 MSI-Mainboard with onboard sound
Windows Vista Professional 64bit Adobe Flash media Live Encoder 3.2 VH Multicam Studio Virtual Audio Cable 4.1
Justin.tv - account
So what works is streaming screen with my microphone sound. --> line 1 IS SENDING a signal to FMLE What doesn't work is getting any other sound into the stream What did i do so far: - enable stereo mix in my sound settings - create line 1 with VAC (works) - send microphone to line1 (works) - send stereo mix to line1 (doesn't work) - select Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable) as Audio Device in FMLE (works) - set stereo mix as default device/ set microphone as default device (no difference) - enable Line 1 is enabled in both Playback and Recoring
can someone please please please tell me what i am doing wrong? Any advice is so welcome... if you feel like helping me on skype where i can share my screen with you, send me a pm with your skype-nick and ill add you (your privacy is respected)

'Listen to this device' is checked, right?
And Line 1 needs to be enabled in both Playback and Recording
|
Line 1 is enabled in both Playblack and Recording 'Listen to this device' - what device are you referring to (im sry if this is a stupid question)
|
|
if i activate that one, im gonna hear myself all the time. But thats not the problem. I already have my voice on the stream. The real problem is, that im not getting the game sound to my stream with stereomix.
|
Can´t really help you with stereomix, but my way to do this (as i dont have stereomix at all) is to use 2 lines.
Microphone -> line 1 Line 2 -> Line 1 Line 2 -> Your output device (headphones)
Set Line 2 in windows to standard recording device.
This way you wont hear line 1 at all, which would be the microphone+game sounds, line 1 is what you want to set as input for fmle. Line 2 is just for your own sound -> no microphone sound at all.
Maybe that helps!

you have to check it off, and playback through this device: set to Line 1. you won't hear yourself.
|
|
the more lines and channels i use, the worse the sound gets and the more the game starts lagging. That is why i really want to get my stereo mix to work because that way, i only need one virtual line and only two audio repeaters.
|
is there anybody out there who's got an idea?

I had some difficulty with this as well, what I ended up doing:
-Set my default device in windows to line 1 -Used audio repeater (KS): In=mic, out=line 1 -Used audio repeater (MME): In=line 1, out=headset -set audio device in FMLE to Line 1
Basically what this seemed to do for me was redirect my mic to line 1. At the same time since I had my default sound set to Line 1, any sound coming from my computer was going through Line 1 as well. With FMLE set to Line 1, this made sure any sound through my mic/programs was being streamed. The reason I used the MME repeater was only so I could hear what was being outputted through Line 1 in my headset. If you really don't care about actually hearing sound and just want it streamed, you should be able to skip the MME step I listed above.
Hope that helps!

hi, battle axe your setup works nicely, but is it possible to arrange stuff without hearing your own voice?
|
You can make it so that you don't hear your own voice by adding a second line. So you will get the following:
- in = line1, out = headset - in = mic, out = line2 - in = line1, out = line2
and set line2 as your audio device in FMLE. That's how I got it to work.
|
hi, KleineWout i already tried that setup and somehow the game is pretty laggy when i use it. Don't you have any perfomance issues?
|
Interesting, I was working on a solution for you and when I tried using a second line I ended up not being able to transmit any sound at all. Default device should be set to line 2 for this to work correct?
|
The main problem with my solution is a delay between sound and screen. It thus lag a bit but not much for me at least. I'm trying to find better solutions aswell, but not having much luck in that regard.

OP I just sent you a PM. I have just recently set up a stream and I only need to use 1 line on VAC. Will show you my settings and try and help you out

Working with the OP, we managed to solve his problem. The whole problem was actually coming from the fact that his headset has a USB soundcard and you needed to do a slight work around in order to get stereomix playing what you head in the soundcard.
I figured I would link the guide that we found as it could possibly (?) help out other TL members who might be experiencing problems with USB headset streaming. The guide was written for the Logitech G35 but it should apply to any USB headset (I think...).
This actually helped me out as when I would stream before I had to unplug my headset and mic cable from my Steelseries headset to get any sound in Stereomix. Now thanks to this I don't have to unplug the USB soundcard any time I want to stream.

PROBLEM SOLVED! so much ♥ to K. Stoyles for helping me out. let me go a bit further into detail. My soundcard was not getting any input due to the fact i was using my USB-headset, which means all sounds were produced by my USB soundcard. Therefore my speakers were kind of disactivated by windows and i didn't get the option to run any sound through that device. The solution was was quite simple but it took ages until it came to my mind..... I just put an old and broken headset to my computer's cinch output, my standard speakers had been activated by windows and stereomix finally could send all the sounds to line1 of my VAC.
I also want to thank all other people trying to help me out and thinking bout my problem. Teamliquid and its members are just great and I'm happy and proud to be part of this community.
Having dealt with audio devices for about 3 weeks due to this problem, i consider myself to be able to help out other people with audio problems. If you feel like you might need my help, don't hesitate to send me a PM and if a guide is requested on how exactly i solved the problem just request it.
