unable to change "windowed" resolution in sc2

Not sure if this should be tech support or SC2 general forum.

Is there a way to change the resolution of SC2 except in Fullscreen [or windowed(fullscreen) - by changing desktop res.].

I'd like to run windowed mode (be able to watch streams or follow a chat etc) without it being stuck on 1024*768 (4 : 3). Anyone have a way to make that work?

(before everyone posts about a 2nd monitor - I'll probably do that at some point, but I'd like to maximize what I can do with my single monitor first.)

Menu > Options > Gameplay > Confine Mouse Cursor OFF, then your cursor is not bound by the window and you can resize the window.

go to My Documents\StarCraft II and open your Variables.txt

Look for windowheight and windowwidth and set those accordingly.

1024*768 is the minimum Sc2 will run at, otherwise you can just drag the edges of the window to enlarge to your needs. The sc2 window must not be maximized for that to work though. Also it gets tricky when you have your mouse cursor confined to the sc2 window, so you might want to turn that off.

thanks / dragging the window edges worked (even though it didn't give the normal directional drag cursor arrows)

didn't try changing the variables.txt yet, but ty for the tip..

You can move the window and drag the window size with the cursor confined if you alt-tab to something else while having the SC2 window still visible. Once you're "out of screen" you can click the top bar or the corner to drag. /shrug lol
