For Adesso's website and complete product info, click here. I've never seen one in person, so I cannot comment on the build quality whatsoever. Sorry about that.

Rosewill are made by the same OEM as produces Filco.

So, other than that it's pretty great, I really like the audio jacks for my headphones and for $70 I'm pretty happy with it.

If you want a different color switch ducky are about 100 bucks and you can get them in blue, brown or black. I have a black tenkeyless ducky and like it, I have only had it for about 3 months though. In case you haven't seen it you can order them from pchome using this guide http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=12854.

Got mine last week and loving it so far. It being my first mechanical keyboard, I can't be too picky with it. The key labels are painted on so expect them to fade away eventually, but the keyboard itself feels very solid and heavy. Key strokes are just as loud as I needed. Paid 70 dollars for mine. It is exactly what I wanted and expected. If you want a good, first mechanical keyboard that is solid and isn't heavy on cosmetics, I would recommend it to anyone. NOTE: Left shift key did not sound the way the other keys did (the left shift key had a softer sound), but simply popping it out then popping it back in swiftly solved the problem.

I'd rather stick with keyboards that have consistent quality. Here are three alternatives you could and should consider. Best choice for cheapest mechanical keyboard with decent, consistent quality would be the Razer BlackWidow. 80USD. Best choice for a quality tenkeyless at the lowest price would be a Leopold from EliteKeyboards. 120USD. Best choice for a quality full 104-key keyboard at the lowest price would be a Rosewill RK-9000 from Newegg or ChiefValue. 100USD.

With the issues I've had and read about with their keyboards, I refuse to buy their products from a store I can't drive to in case I need to return. Of course, the worst is the Lycosa series. The stupid media touchpad and the drivers like to freak out and load a new instance of Windows Media Player every 8 or so seconds, had to delete the WMP exe.

The Adesso is cheap, but for the cheapness you get lesser quality than a Das or a Filco. Whether the Razer is better or not is unknown right now, because I haven't seen a lotta feedback on the Razer yet. The general consensus from the Blackwidow users I've seen is that it's a good keyboard that isn't built as tough as the Filcos. I haven't seen the soldering jobs inside yet, and I don't know if there are any failure points. So effectively, you can bet on the Razer for now with regards to the Blackwidow. Or wait for the $99 Leopold tenkeyless from Elitekeyboards. The Rosewill RK-9000 has been reputed to be as good as Filcos, but they tend to be out of stock (read: manufacturer makes a few every month). Pick them up if you can.

The manufacturing defects caused some really bad issues, such as key presses not being recognized, or having the imput get stuck and start repeating over and over. The touchpad was also very much unresponsive with the faulty boards. I believe it was all due to mistakes in the soldering of the keyboard, as the actual design works just fine, and later versions of the keyboard shouldn't have the same problem. The touch panel repeating the media command is an obvious symptom of a faulty board. If you're still covered under warranty, you should return the board. There actually was a massive recall of Lycosa keyboards with certain production numbers a while back. Faulty models should still be under warranty, although I don't know for sure. Regardless, since then the quality of the Blackwidow has been on par with competitors. Just be aware that the Blackwidow is only capable of 2-key rollover, not n-key like many keyboard enthusiasts expect from a standard mechanical. It is still a very easily available mechanical keyboard with cherry blues, and one of the cheapest at that. If ordering online through a chinese taobao-agent doesn't seem too hardcore, I'd actually recommend looking at Noppoo Choc keyboards. They are very affordable keyboards that feature NKRO over USB. Some people on TL have posted pictures of the Noppoo Choc Mini in one of the keyboard threads, and that particular keyboard has gotten nothing but favorable reviews on geekhack. The only drawback seems to be complete incompatibility with OSX.

Actually, the brilliance of it is that you can reset the touchpad issue temporarily by rebooting, and it will stay gone for a while. And no, I'm not in the list of bad serials, it seems they just never fixed the actual manufacturing problem. I just need to pick up a cheap-o to plug in while I wait for an RMA, since my wife threw out the bag with my receipt, negating the value of my local store only policy for Razer keyboards.

I was talking about the BlackWidow mechanical keyboard. Not any of the lower quality "gaming" keyboards which are essentially fancy-looking, lit-up, overpriced rubber dome keyboards. It's too bad you have had issues with Razer quality in the past, but that doesn't mean every single product that Razer has come out with has shitty quality. The BlackWidow has been praised by keyboard enthusiasts for its price point and accessibility. Granted its layout may be awkward and it might take some time for a user to get acclimated to the keyboard, but it's one of the best products they've ever had.

Given that I still use Razer products, that should show I'm not biased against them. I merely stated that their quality control has occasionally been a bit lacking, and listed the most notorious case. I was actually just suggesting purchase of Razer products from a local retailer to prevent RMA downtime, as the quality of the products that ship fully functional is amazing. I wasn't insulting the specific product in the least.
