It's just a shame that because of a lot of people out there who have had issues with Razer gear in the past have made their problems known, there is a stigma around Razer that unfortunately won't go away.
I hope that stigma does not discourage other people from trying out the products for themselves. And as you mentioned it would be better to get it from a local shop. In the event of something malfunctioning, a replacement can be received on site.
