I just bought one of these for about 40 bucks with shipping on amazon, and personaly i think its pretty cool being my first gaming mouse. my bro is bitching about it how its way too big and it's awkward ergonomics, but i want some comments from people who own it and their honest opinions. i already bought one, i just want a bit of a teaser on how it handles and how it feels while playing.

rate it out of 10, and then just put pros and cons. =D

i know there are plenty of other mouses out there, i dont care about them. i just want user review on the mouse, so thx! dont flame each other!

I had one and sold it for 40 (switched back to deathadder)

pro -
5600dpi
adjustible to your preference by sliders (more accurate than deathadder 450/900/1800/3500)
rubber grip
multiple buttons (9 total)

cons-
phillips twin eye laser sensor
it jumps from time to time... what's up with that??
ergonomically awkward

I'd say that its cons outweighed the pros as you almost never need to 5600dpi and I would say in terms of design, the deathadder is ample times better

deathadder - ergonomic, right/left hand specific, palm grip
lachesis - claw grip, ambidexterous

i'd say try out multiple mice to figure out which one you like.

Solid enough mouse imo.. especially for 40$. I guess it will just depend on your grip style and your personal preference. Just because your bro doesn't like it doesn't mean its a crap mouse. 5600 dpi laser mouse for 40$ shipped is nice, not knowing what mouse your currently gaming it's hard to say. Depending on that, you should be impressed.

Well i tried that mouse few weeks ago and as a fingergriper i cant play with it so for me its 6.5/10
for my friend it is 10/10 because he can grip it right and i believe him that he loves it even his aim on (CoD2, CS, QL) is amazing.
Its really AWESOME buy for 40 bucks and if you are palm, claw griper that mouse is for you.
btw 5600 DPI is kind of useless. Dont know anyone who uses it on maximum.

Nobody uses 5600 DPI, it's almost useless.. Important things are;

-How your hand feels
-Mouse doesnt make unexpected moves, jumps, etc. And someone said lachesis doing that? If u wanna play for real, get rid of it and buy a simple microsoft mouse:D

Btw Abyssus and steelseries Qck+ heavy is great =)

I really enjoy it. I don't have any problems with the unexpected moves really. A lot of people have trouble with the grip but I think it works great. It is pretty weird mouse that can have varying effects based on how you grip the mouse. It is pretty cheap now so I think its worth it.

This was my 2nd ever gaming mouse, the first being the MX518 Logitech which was solid don't get me wrong and especially for 20 dollars, but the lachesis is just such an improvement over even the mx518 imo for FPS.
I got the 4000dpi mouse back when it was around 80 dollars USD. The non-ergonomic design took a while to get used to but it really is perfect when you do and feels great, now I don't like ergonomic. I'm a palm grip so I don't know how good it would be if you're claw.
I find its precision amazing, the mouse options are plentiful, and the tracking is top notch.
Concerning the cursor jumping issue, I just clean it regularly and wipe off the laser eye and I don't have a problem with it.
However, I only use this mouse for FPS (quake, counterstrike etc) and I use an old classic 5 button microsoft mouse for sc2 and other rts. Call me oldschool I guess, and I'm sure it's good for sc2 too, but I mainly got this for Quakelive and CS and I will say It's a MUST for fps games.

Would like to note I don't have much experience with other gaming mice so maybe just any good high dpi laser mice are just as good. But If I'd have to rate the lachesis based on my exp I'd give it a
9/10.

Just stick with the lachesis if you already bought it, you can't go wrong with it. Took me awhile to get used to the grip but now i'm loving it.

The only problem I've had with my Lachesis is the middle mouse button... It broke. Now I'm using a generic Logitech mouse.

im gettin one for xmas from my gf, i wanted a good mouse for SC2, WoW and FPS games and this had all the things i was looking for. I use lots of mouse binds in WoW so 9 buttons is nice for me.

Razor's decent, anything that's not new shouldn't have any problems. However, the mouses do take time to adjust to, since most gamers new to high DPI mouses have to adapt to the high sensitivity/weight.
Fear the mango! update, ok I honestly didn't know there was a mod named Mango when I made this

i wouldn't recommend the lachesis:

pros
5600dpi
adjustible to your preference by sliders (more accurate than deathadder 450/900/1800/3500)
rubber grip
multiple buttons (9 total)

the biggest minus it gets is that it sometimes just doesn't respond... lost me some games just because of my mouse just not moving right or left... i'm getting a new mouse ASAP!

I do not think is the best sc mouse, but it is pretty decent. Moreover it 9 buttons and multiple profiles make it awesome for other games. I would say its a good all around mouse.

I've been using the Lachesis for over 2 years (I'm on my 3rd one after breaking my first in a fit of rage and giving my second one to my wife). I absolutely love this mouse, I haven't used any other 'high-end' mouse, gaming or otherwise. I will continue to buy them until Razer stops making them. I will admit it probably doesn't make a big difference just for SC2, but as a WoW gamer, I love the extra side buttons (even though nearly every mouse worth more than 50$ has them now). I use the 4000dpi version, running at ~3500dpi @ 1900x1080 resolution. Sorry if it's not quite the 'review' you're looking for, but I couldn't help but say good things about the Lachesis. Happy gaming!

edit: 10/10 for the mouse. Only because I haven't used any other high-end mice to compare it to.

I have a lachesis.

Love it. Its a little bit different in terms of its size, and how its shaped, but after getting used to it, I can't imagine ever going back to something more standard.

I found the shape of it to be absolutely terrible - I ended up returning it within a week and getting a Diamondback instead.

Definitely a personal preference thing, though - if you don't mind the shape of it in your hand, its probably quite good. I couldn't use the side buttons at all, though, without hurting my wrist.

Try this. I have been using it for awhile and for me it works great. Never have had any jumps, stalls.

Mouse clicks are quick and precise, adjustable DPI up to 3200. Laser grade mouse. To me it is a larger mouse but is more comfortable for my hands. has adjustable weights at the back but to be honest I have never messed with them.

has two side buttons as well.

The only problem I have had with it is that when my computer goes to sleep and I wake it back up I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work.

I have never used the lachesis so I cant comment on it. But I have heard razer makes good gaming mice.
I'm terrible

If you do decide to replace it make sure you consult this spreadsheet:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AosJbEwEG9GpdEpBMGc1ZXo0S3BLQm1YQ09jeVZ6bEE&w=100&h=650

You want to avoid any mouse that uses Phillips Twin Eye and doesn't allow you to turn off mouse prediction/snapping.

Once you've narrowed it down you need to look at things like:
- Shape
- Price
- Number of buttons (if it matters)
- DPI (if it matters)

As for my recommendation.. I would go with Logitech. Either G9x, MX518 or G700 depending on the shape you like. The G700 is quite expensive but I love it. For a cheaper Logitech mouse that has the same shape as the G700 you want to look at the M500.

Buying a mouse is a lot easier if you know how you prefer to grip the mouse, some people will say its awkward because they like palm grip over the claw grip style of the mouse. So I can't really rate it because I don't have one but I though that might be helpful.

I have the Logitech g9x laser mouse right now and it's great.

2x grips
interchangeable weights
on the fly dpi switching
customizable led lights
extra buttons
profile switching
5600 dpi
etc

If the lachesis isn't for you, I would recommend this mouse.. it's around 65 or cheaper i think

I really like the lachesis (i have the older one) that i've been using.
I also have the G9x which is a really good mouse - i tried it for a week, but never really got used to it, it's a little bit heavier than the lachesis, even without any weights.

however, lately, my lachesis is giving me some intermittent axis-locking problems which2a is super annoying, so i'm trying to get used to the G9x again.

I got my lachesis for 30 bucks on woot and I love it. The only problem that I have had with it was dirt getting caught on the laser. That's my fault though, and is easily fixed with a Q-tip.

i personally prefer the deathadder, if you can test them out for a couple days each and see what mouse fits you best. Mice are like shoes man its gotta fit you just right for maximum performance :D

i went to best buy i think yesterday to check out their lineup of gaming mices from razer and logitech. originatively my bro told me to buy the xai because it was on sale, but then he kinda thought about it after seeing the "huge" size of it, and it just looks like a crappy dell mouse that is oversized and has several extra buttons on it.

Anyways, i check out the mice there, and not surprisingly none of the razer mice were on display. i couldnt find the lachesis there either, but i found the mamba, naga, orochi( oh its soo small!! awesome!) deathadder, and the Imperator. the old version of the mx18 was on display and so was the G500, which felt soo nice. it was light, and the buttons felt like magic.

i did check it out, felt the grip (i just felt the plastic display thingy covering the mouse) and personally i dont really like it.

definitely the next two mice on my list(if i dont like the Lachesis) will be the G500 and/or Razer Abyssus. No steel series mice for me, and the G9x deals are way over, so yeah im thinking about these two,

thx for contributing everybody!

plz add moar =D
