+no glossy plastic!
The fact that this can be listed as a positive baffles me, i dont actuly touch any part of my razer mouse that is NOT glossy plastic, and i cant see any comfortable grip style for competitive lower sens gaming that doesnt have major contact points on the glossy parts of the mouse (basically 2/3'rds of the surface area)
Somebody at Razer need to get shot for this one.

Thinking of getting a small mouse (currently have the kinzu v2 pro). Should I get the Abyssus with goliathus or G9X and a mousepad (not sure which glass or plastic tracks well with it) or do you have any other suggestions?

Id say zowie mico or logitech optical mini. Both are wonderful mice.
I like smaller ones too, atm switching between mico and g1.

FlawlessFeeL wrote: Don't get an imperator. There's no good reason to get it. Go for an Abyssus or Deathadder if you really want to stick with Razer . Otherwise , G9X without the shell from Logitech and Sensei from Steelseries are really hot on the market at the moment.
First of all, I'm not sticking with Razer since I've never had one. I need more buttons that what Abyssus and Deathadder have. Logitech is out of the question out of principle.
Of all the mouses I tried at the store Steelseries Sensei and Razer Imperator were the only ones I thought felt good but the Razer one seemed to have better build quality. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

This might be more of a technical question but here it goes:
So to start things off: I wake up today and walk over to the pc, last night I was playing sc2 until about 2 am, I have a Fnatic Sensei mouse, it's awesome.
Last night everything was normal, but when my computer boots up, the orange lights are now all BLUE. I did not change the settings in the SS engine, what the fuck happened? How can I set it back to orange? Thankyou.

Indeed. I'd really like to know what the difference in cost is between glossy plastic and "matte" or "grainy" plastic. I know the glossy plastic is basically untreated plastic so it's the cheapest kind, but the other kinds can't be that expensive, can they? The only tidbit of info I've ever read about that was when Kim Rom of SteelSeries talked about the Xai. He explained that the Ruse edition had glossy plastic to offset the cost of the third party branding. Still doesn't tell us much though :/

I have all three. If you liked the kinzu v2 pro I think you'll love the Abyssus; it's cheap and has amazing tracking. I personally prefer the g9x but that's only because I love soft buttons and those on the g9x are softer than those on the Abyssus (which are similar to those on the kinzu v2 pro so you'll probably have no problem with them). Happy to answer any question.

ok and would you recommend me goliathus speed or control?
|
You're shoould feel both for yourself to find out since you have no idea how it'll actually be like, but I thought the slight bumps/grooves/whatevertheyare in control were a bit too wide and prominent (was used to the exactmat control but this is completely different in my opinion) [so i would've gone for the smoother speed option if I had bought one. In the end I liked my hard mat better.]

Ah sorry I have a ton of mice because I went on a mad quest to find a lightweight ambidextrous mouse that I like but I'm rather clueless when it comes to mouse mats (been using one from a french brand you prolly don't know for a long time).

I've been using a Razer imperator for the last two weeks, and I have to say I love it. I had a verbatim rapier before and that was great, but the imperator is seriously comfortable, incredibly customisable (software wise) and a great mouse for only £50. Would recommend it to anyone, a specially for a palm grip.

did anyone try the sensei raw version? my brother has the original sensei and it's a fine mouse, would consider buying the raw.

I seem to be having some mouse acceleration issues on my mac, similar to ones I've had on SteelSeries before (disappeared after installing exactmouse tool), but this is most likely a problem with the computer, seeing as I've tried several different mice and the problem persists.
When I drag the mouse around the screen, it goes really slowly by default, unless I drag it faster, in which case it goes at normal speed.
So clicking precisely gets really weird, as whenever I slow down the mouse the sensitivity seems to go way down and the acceleration gets all screwy.
The mice i've tried are: mico, deathadder, kana, kinzu, naga. They all have the exact same problem. I can't find anything that adjusts this in the system preferences. I've tried re-plugging, using different usb ports, everything like that.

If that doesn't work either I would assume it is a problem associated with your mac, and this 3rd party program should work ok: http://triq.net/mac/mouse-acceleration-preference-pane-mac-os-x Just drag the acceleration down to linear

i just received the new ninox mouse(the new mouse thats being beta tested), didnt get a chance to test it out yet but the shape is amazing. i would say its small-middsize mouse but the way its shaped makes for a comfortable palm-grip aswell. and this is coming from a dieheart palm gripper : D
so basically 1st impressions: extremely lightweight and excellent shape
edit: will take pics and compare mouse sizes later

Ah, that fixed it, thanks!

edit: will take pics and compare mouse sizes later glad to see this information finally coming out, let us know how the actuation feels for the switches, some have reported it to be slightly more stiff than they expected for the 5M Omrons (like Huano stiff). Also if I could ask, what CPI setting do you use just for reference?
Great to hear about the shape though, is the tapered design \_/ on the sides considerable, or is it almost |_| in feel (as in very slight)?

1600 cpi, the switchs do feel a bit stiffer than i expected but its not significant difference imo
i also got 2 other mice but i dunno what those are for, they could just be the alpha models or u might be able to customize your mouse depending on your preferences(1 mouse is heavier and the other has logitech g1-esque shape)
