Depends on what you play, Abyssus and Taipan are similar in size and shape, but if you FPS at all (low-mid sens players), Abyssus is the safer choice as the A9818 still has that inconsistent acceleration curve. If you are looking for potential replacements in the future you should read up on the Ninox mice.

Ok I'll check that out, thanks!

When is the Ninox Velocity going to go on sale?
|
just got a g9x. Do others here use weights or not? Not using any grip as I want the mouse nice and small.
|
Is it normal for the g9x to rattle? When I spam I feel something is rattling inside and it is annoying. It's definately the scroll wheel and somethign else inside. Also when you push down on the mouse pad the case scraps the mouse pad which is kinda annoying. Other than that the mouse is great but these two problems is a huge negative.

You must be spamming really hard though, for me, it only rattles when I consciously shake the mouse hard.
As for the case, I assume you are using the black "precision grip", which doesn't have a glide pad at the bottom. Nothing you can do here, either try switching to the grey XL-grip (I find it to be more comfortable anyway and it has better glide) or try to not press down the grip. You could also try using it without any grip, like most of the Koreans do, but I personally find it to be too narrow to be comfortable without the grips.

i'm looking to buy a g9x, are you guys (g9x users, that is) using the setpoint software/driver? how can the dpi be regulated without that? can it also be used to set profiles and then be deleted again?

From the Logitech website: "You can program up to five profiles (keyboard macros, dpi settings, and LED colours), so you can play your way on other PCs**—without software installation." This basically says it all.

AHH Okay. What is this "microgear" you are talking about? Yea I spam boxes at my minerals pretty hard.
I thought both grips were the same size. I got the MW3 edition because it was A LOT cheaper. The mouse is way to small without the grip.
Also I think the slot where I put the 4g and 7g weights also rattle a little bit. Do you have this problem? Thanks for your comments.

I don't use any weights. I even have the whole slot removed because it rattles when I spam. I don't know if this is normal or not. Does your mouse rattle?

There's a "microgear" button at the bottom of the mouse with which you can choose whether the scrollwheel will have distinct steps or just scroll freely. In regards to the weight tray: no, it doesn't rattle inside my g9x. I would suggest taking it out alltogether, it will also make the mouse a tad lighter.

Has anyone else got the Black Gaming Mouse from TTesports? + Show Spoiler + that one in particular.
I was absolutely NOT satisfied with it at first because, as I play a lot of MOBA games I have to right click constantly to move. I noticed the mouse was specifically designed for shooting games, and the right click was a bit harder to press. I was really worried at first.
But after a while I just realized my old mouse was really easy and flimsy to press. This mouse is so solid, has a really big shape, and even has customizable weight with 5 x 4.5g weights you can take out or put in to get the weight just right. And I got it for 60$, which I think is pretty good for a mouse, I'm not sure...but I just got it because it was the cheapest one there amongst razers. TTesports is really growing now (at least in Australia) and is at least competing with Razer in my hometown. If anyone wants a cheaper brand that's still great, I would recommend this.

Just wanted to say I love my Roccat Savu and Hayate Artisan M. Perfect shape and size for me personally (palm grip, though good for fingertip too I think). Little pricey compared to other mice, but for me I wanted the small amount of buttons/no thrills type of mouse that has the performance I need. Also recommend the Hayate Artisan, very smooth glide and sticks to my desk no problem. M size isn't too big, isn't too small.

That microgear feature is cray lol. It's so cool I wanna keep it.

I've been wasting a ton of money trying out mice and selling them recently, especially small mice, so here are my quick thoughts on them in case anyone's interested.
Razer Abyssus +perfect shape +excellent tracking -buttons are too stiff for me -glossy sides (easy to remove with sandpaper but hey)
the buttons have to be worn in before they actually become good trust me

Still not quite sure if the mouse is a tad too small for my hand without a grip or if I just don't understand how I'm supposed to hold it. Fingertip, good glide, hard pad, sort of like playing hockey with the mouse as the ball and your fingers as the sticks. You may possibly need to rotate the mouse and hold it diagonally (same with a grip anyway).

Dudes, I need your opinion now. Basically need a wide-shaped (this is a must) ambidex light-weight (this is also a must) mouse for fingertip grip. Here's the catch: light-weight (preferably like 70g) but at the same time not narrow like most fingertippers (including gripless G9X), preferably at least 70 mm wide, to avoid curling my palm around it, which is painful and detrimental to gameplay in the long run due to stiffness. Preferably no side-buttons at all or at least not the type of button placement that forces you to put your fingers in unnatural locations on the mouse body to avoid pressing anything. Preferably not under ~2300 dpi, definitely no less than 1600. Has to track and glide well on Steelseries nHD (black textured hard pad). Don't care about wheel, loudness etc. but do care about button switch quality.
The reason for the detailed preferences is that I have powerful RSI/CTS by now and I also can't react fast enough with a huge palmer or a heavy mouse, as in my physical agility (and arm strength/endurance?) is not high enough to follow my mental pace. Otherwise, I'd probably go for the Ikari (light but still a huge palmer).

The Aurora is coming out first. BST said Christmas or earlier.

Is there a list of mice with absolutely no mouse acceleration/prediction?
