1. What's your grip style?
fingertip (but I have small hands so I like when the back of the mouse hits my palm, even though I'm gripping with my finger arched up)

2. What's your sensitivity?
3200-3400 dpi

3. What's your maximum budget?
None

4. Do you want additional buttons?
2 side buttons

5. What games do you play?
LoL / SC2

6. Do you mind angle snapping?
Yes it annoys me

7. Other relevant information:
Currently using a g9x because I have small hands. Care more about tracking quality more than anything else, so long as it fits small hands.

the g502 would be worth a try. i've used the g9x for years in sc2/quakeworld/bfbc2/bf3/bf4, then the past year a g100s and for about a month i've been using the g502 now. i have small/medium sized hands and i used to fingertip/claw the g9x/g100s. at first i thought the g502 was way too huge but it really isn't, it's more like it was built exactly for fingertip/claw usage. the sensor is currently the best one available, no competition there. it's rather heavy compared to most other mouses available, although i got used to it after about two days.

here's an oc review: http://www.overclock.net/t/1481639/logitech-g502-proteus-core-gaming-mouse-review-by-ino

I'm not a fan of the 502, sensor is there but pretty much everything else is kinda messed up about it - weight, suboptimal mouse feet placement, maybe some extra buttons that get in the way since it has even more than the g402's 7 buttons, some issues with inconsistent tracking experience due to some randomness with the logitech software, etcetc. The type of person that i would recommend it to is exactly the type that wouldn't need a 3366 in the first place

my suggestion would be CM Storm Spawn

Would be nice to have some green led, current mousepad is goliathus speed, owned a zowie ec1 evo which i'm not displeased with, i'll probably re-buy it if i don't get any other suggestions

what kinda cm/180? for FPS you need cm/180 sens (centimeters taken to turn 180 degrees and look behind you) because 400dpi can mean it takes you 1cm to turn around or 100cm to turn around depending on the configuration of sens in FPS engine

as said, got used to its weight rather easily. what's suboptimal about the feet placement? for me no button (i pretty much only use left+right click and the wheel) gets in the way and i don't have any issue with tracking due to the logitech gaming software.

I think this:

isn't as good as this:

it's less symmetrical

20g lighter on very similar shell is a big advantage for the g402

the software thing has been complained about by quite a few people on OCN, reinstalling it makes the mouse feel different etc. It probably means little for people who are not particularly sensitive - but a lot of those people are the ones looking for a "perfect" mouse feel in the 3366, and bothered by small things

I mainly said spawn though because s/he is using a g9x - having that shell and a g402 myself, the 402 (20g lighter than 502) feels big, heavy and hard to move in games like MMO/RTS/MOBA - but easier to swipe 30 centimeters with in FPS, because it's a big object with a very wide left side and good grip for those types of movements

my sensitivity is much lower than that poster though, ~640-750dpi. After a few weeks with the 402 has passed i'm probably going to try two steps up (800)

The G502 is really the only thing that tracks 3200-3400 dpi well. But then again playing LoL and SC2 doesn't require pixel perfect muscle memory the same way fps do.

just because a feet placement isn't highly symmetrical doesn't mean it's bad or better/worse at all. it's all about distribution of weigth and how/where you apply pressure on the mouse (mostly determined by its shape).

i've read so much about the software and tracking incosistency on oc, and it's not really quite a few, it's just a few. and just because someone feels a difference doesn't mean he's particularly sensitive, it could also mean he's a moron, which is the case for many of the mouse-scientologists on oc. can u believe that there really was a thread about circle-drifting incosistency on the g502? however, there were some issues with the firmware/software that have been "fixed" (some profiles getting stuck on 500 hz under certain circumstances and stupid stuff like that).

the spawn might be an option yeah. although after years of the g9x (albeit it's really bad sensor) without a shell i couldn't get used to the xornet (tried it for about a month), i think it's a good option if you used the g9x with one of its shells.

and btw, i use 500 dpi / 800 dpi for fps / sc2 @ 1920x1200.

the smoothing (apparently under 1ms) at 2080-4000dpi on g402 is too small for me to feel at all, it might be possible to show a difference but i don't think 99.9% of people would notice it. A of this mouse stuff, as long as you don't have a sensor that has huge flaws which prevent you from working properly with muscle memory, is pretty minor. Guess you are right on the software thing, i heard they fixed some of the bugs with the profiles feeling noticeably different even at the same settings etc

a lot of stuff does up to ~3600 quite well

can u believe that there really was a thread about circle-drifting incosistency on the g502?

Wasn't there an issue with that though? There was one on the g402, which was inconsistent if you hit ~2.5ms on the Y axis until they patched the firmware.

I thought I added that but it's 17"/44cm for a 360

my mouse sens changes everytime i start my pc
it varies between 2 different values that i can somewhat balance out using the dpi options on my mouse but its still different (also very annoying)
anyone got an idea where it all went wrong?

Double check windows settings (should be 6/11 with enhanced pointer precision disabled) and mouse driver/software settings, if there are any.

Some games like League of Legends and Starcraft 2 will override that 6/11 if incorrectly configured

Do you use another input device such as a tablet or something? My sister's tablet driver affects the windows sens slider :/

Search for people talking about problems with the software of your mouse. Check for updates to that and the firmware.

1. What's your grip style?
While gaming I tend to use the claw grip, but somehow my hand switches to a palm grip while browsing etc. So hybrid it is.
2. What's your sensitivity?
I normally use 1100 dpi, so I guess this means medium.
3. What's your maximum budget?
80€
4. Do you want additional buttons?
2 thumb keys would be awesome.
5. What games do you play?
Starcraft2
6. Do you mind angle snapping?
Used the MX518 for a long time, so I think no, but I would not mind to try a mouse without angle snapping. Maybe I feel a difference
7. Other relevant information:
Important: no ‘soft touch’ rubber surface, wired
Nice to have: adjustable dpi (I am used to 1600 dpi for FPS), I would prefere optical over laser sensor

Hey there,
So I am searching for a new mouse atm, because I became allergic to the ‘soft touch’ rubber of my G400/MX518. The problem is that many mice use this kind of material to improve the grip. Also, most product information only mention the dpi and stuff like that, but do not say anything about the materials they use. So I tried to browse amazon and check the images of the mice to find one without a soft-touch surface, but most of the time I am not sure, if it is only a rough surface or a soft touch one.
I used a MAD CATZ RAT for a while now, but ran into a common problem with the sensor (sometimes stopped tracking the x or y axis for a few seconds), so I am looking for a replacement.
I would really appreciate, if you could help me finding a new mouse, or maybe a range of mice without soft touch, so I can chose one of them.

I have no idea, I just know that I had set her windows sens to 6/11 several time but that it changes back to something else then. Not that she plays any game anymore, so it doesn't really matter I suppose? Unless it makes the tablet skip pixels too ^o)

Graphics tablets can't really skip pixels, they use absolute positioning usually

On mine for example it just has 15200 points on the X axis mapped to 1920 pixels, so there are about 8 tracking "points" on the tablet for each pixel on the screen

Check out Zowie EC2 Evo. There's a black and there's a white version. The white version uses glossy plastic everywhere if I'm not mistaken (both on top and on the sides).

EDIT: The "Razer Abyssus Mirror" might also be like that Zowie mouse with everything glossy plastic. I can't really find other mice that are like this. Everything with glossy top always has sides that look matte and might be that stuff you can't use.

EDIT2: There's also Zowie EC1, btw. The difference to EC2 is a different size. The EC1 is larger and the EC2 is smaller. I have no idea what feels more similar to MX518 with regards to size.
