Any good medium-size mouse pads to go with the Zowie AM? I currently have a very worn out, small size Steelseries Qck.

As for which pad to get, i dunno the sensor, but considering they are so cheap i'd say get bigger unless you have a reason not to (helps for fps and for positioning arm to use lower sens on non-fps enviroments where you're using a small fraction of the pad instead of most of it)

I think i want a new mouse =) Sensei Raw : specs Witdh 6.83 cm Depth 12.55 cm Height 3.87 cm Weight 90 g I have big hands (and im a leftie) I used a Microsoft intelli 3.0 for like 10 yrs( crazy yes? using a left hand on a right hand mouse) I finally changed to a deathadder(it was good but i think I started having pain in my hands about the same time, and dont know if it correlates) Now i use the Sensei raw with specs above. Ive tried the CMS Storm - its rly nice to hold and fits well into my hand, but the sensor is crap. So do you guys know of a ambidextrous mouse for me to try? Kind regards!

Which CM Storm mouse did you try? What you mentioned is the brand name.

If it would have been you using 3200dpi or something, I'd have suggested to look for a laser mouse instead of optical. I have serious problems thinking of a large mouse that I'd want to recommend that's ambidextrous. ![]() Perhaps try to see if you can guess a reason for the pain with the left-handed Deathadder? There might be something you can change easily about how you sit or something.

Maybe try the Razer Abyssus?

Guess I´m lucky. Anyway since the surface of my copperhead is getting a bit used I´m considering the Rat7. I really like the adjustable chassis. Is the the sensor really not good? Thanks for any response.

![]() I heard that the Philips-Twin-Eye (PTE) sensor is very sensitive about what surface you use it on. That might have skewed people's opinion about it. Some people say it's actually working excellent. I don't know what the best surface for it is, only that it should be something in a single color.

I'm wondering what happens when you lower (as opposed to increase) sensitivity in windows or in game, does that reduce accuracy too? Some people say you should use max dpi and then lower sensitivity to get the best accuracy idk if that's true. Also, people say to use 6/11 windows sensitivity but what about in-game in games like counter strike that have sliders?

After reading OP I'm still unsure exactly how dpi and sensitivity work together. I just bought a new mouse with 3 dpi settings (zowie ec1 evo). The 1150 dpi setting is pretty good for normal desktop use but since BW is played in 640x480 even the lowest dpi setting of 450 dpi is a little too fast for me. DPI = Sensitivity. FPS engines like counterstrike work in different ways to other stuff, because you're dealing with 3d rotation and angles, not pixels. If your desktop is 1280x960 for example, it'll take twice as much DPI to cross the same amount of physical distance as brood war would at fullscreen 640x480 (half as many pixels across) You can try putting windows sens on 4/11 instead of 6/11 while you're playing brood war, or even 3/11 i think, if you have no other way of controlling sens The logic of using the maximum possible DPI and then scaling down with sens is quite good, until you realize that by scaling down you are throwing away a lot of data, making tracking somewhat inconsistent on a small level, and then the main thing - if 1000dpi is the sens you want, and you're using 1000dpi - you're already at the maximum accuracy level. 1 pixel per count, you can't track any smaller distance

Also, people say to use 6/11 windows sensitivity but what about in-game in games like counter strike that have sliders? No, it does not reduce accuracy and works fine. The only one that's a bit weird is the 5/11 position (one to the left from the middle 6/11). That one is 75%. All others work perfect. 4/11 will do 50%. Windows will simply divide by two. 3/11 will do 25%. It divides by four. From what I heard about your mouse, if you put it to its max 2300 dpi setting, it will work best, disable some kind of processing in the mouse that it has to do for the 450 dpi setting, etc. Some people say they can feel the mouse having less latency. So you might want to set the mouse to 2300 dpi and then use the Windows mouse pointer speed slider to reduce that 2300 dpi on the desktop to something that is comfortable for you. A lot of games use the raw input data of the mouse. Those will ignore the Windows mouse pointer speed slider. In that case, you will just have to reduce mouse sensitivity in the game's settings. Using the mouse on 2300 dpi might mean that you'll be able to move the crosshair in finer steps in an FPS game if your sensitivity is high enough that you see it jump in steps when aiming.

Single color, preferrably a hard mat. I tried using a PTE mouse on a soft mat and the cursor jitters when you click.

My dislike of Razer comes from spending over a grand in 24 months on their peripherals and only having a functioning mousepad at the end of it. But my Diamondback purchased in about 2006ish still works on my dads laptop. You can't judge Razer on how they were back then, because their quality was good back then. Now we have fancy looking hardware with quality control issues. Right now I'm using a Rat 7, its a good mouse if not abit gimmicky, there are better mice out there for-sure that cost less, but this was a gift and it works so I'll use it until it doesn't.

edit: Actually, if I could divide by 3 that would be perfect. I could use 1150/3 or 2300/6 but there's no such option tt
