A "good mouse" is primarily personal preference, and what you're used to.

Also, use the search box.

Along with the Steelseries mousepad thats been posted several times, they work amazing together.

What's the benifit of having a mousepad like that? Does it really effect how good your mouse works?

Something small and light, sensors hardly matter at all for rts; half the bw pros have some random 10$ mice.

it does matter. skipping or massive acceleration are a no-go in any competitive real-time game, no matter if its fps or rts or even something like dota or wow arena.

the reason why bw pros use super old mice is that bw is played in a 640x480 resolution where the ordinary 400 dpi of these old mice are sufficient. sc2 on the other hand is usually played in resolutions of at the very least 1280, so that 400 dpi dont cut it anymore.

For a claw grip as you mentioned, the razer abyssus gets my vote. The deathadder as people mentioned I would say to stay away from, for a claw grip as you mentioned it is waaaayyy too big and favors a palm grip. I own both of them, the abyssus is definitely a good mouse for rts gaming.

mouse pointer is more smooth and precise. It is also quieter with a mouse pad. No running the mouse over a hard surface.

I don't know why people don't use them. I always see people using their mouse only on the desk and the pointer jots everywhere and it's real noisy.

if play random i can't call any race imba?

Having used ALOT of mice, almost all so far recommended, I definately feel that Xai is the best one for me. It works with both a claw grip and a regular rested hand on it and I've yet to experience any problems that a cotton Q-tip to the laser couldn't solve.

I do recommend you going to a local store and gripping a few different ones there though as I do not know what you feel comfortable with.

Same here never had any problems with my Deathadder except for the fact it's a dirt magnet.

Very happy with my Logitech G9 configured at full weight with the scroll wheel locked. One thing to consider is that the 1.2 patch will allow us to map a mouse button to Push-To-Talk, so while for the most part any mouse will do, it can be handy to have at least one extra button besides the wheel.

I've been using the G9x for around 4 months and it is brilliant. There really is nothing bad to say about it except the price. However, if you're willing to shell out some cash on a quality product, i definitely recommend this.

Currently using a razer diamondback 3g myself. Would love to give the new Spectre SC2 mouse a try with it's super high dpi and similar shape/size to the diamondback.

If you really dislike razer maybe the logitech MX518 would be a good choice.

Edit: forgot to mention I play with claw grip as well.
