Hi, i still get an error about non authorized language pack (instead of no game attached to the account before relocalization)...so it did something but partially, installing it shows me some errors

For now, you can just run the batch files, ignore the error, and then go into My Documents\Starcraft II\Variables.txt and change the lines that read
localeiddata=sourceLOCALE
localeidassets=sourceLOCALE
to
localeiddate=targetLOCALE
localeidassets=targetLOCALE

Example: If your source locale is enUS and your target locale is ptBR, then you would edit your Variables.txt file to read:
localeiddata=ptBR
localeidassets=ptBR

Alternately, you can just delete your Variables.txt file after you patch, and Starcraft will fill it with the correct data on your first run.


Thanks for the quick reply. I tried deleting Variables.txt and still get the error, so I opened it up and it displays the correct target language that I'm trying to achieve. Any other ideas? Something to do with the new patch?

Question:

I have the Korean client (because I live here and blizzard f'ed up my NA account). Does this patch the single player and multiplayer experience to English but allow me to play on Korean servers as well? Or is that just a language pack thing... If so, where the hell do I find that?

My enMX version still connects to LA just fine, so I don't think there's a problem with the new patch. Blizzard didn't even add a new "Version" folder, so it doesn't seem like I even need to modify anything for 1.0.1. If you want to play on the US servers, you must have a US license for the game. If you're in Brazil, the easiest way to do this is probably Digital Download from Battle.net. Just make sure you change your region to North America (US), before purchasing. Once you have a US license on your Battle.net Account, simply download the US game client and login. Nothing special to configure or do.

i installed th enUS client and applied the patch with enUS as source and ptBR as target. i deleted the variables.txt and still got the language pack error. i'm running it on win7 32bits.

is it because i let the enUS client update on the NA server?! Should i reinstall and update it after patching?

Updating against the NA server shouldn't cause any issues. Could you post your log.txt? That would give me a much better idea of what's going on.

Could you tell me what files you have in C:\Program Files\StarCraft II\Mods\Core.SC2Mod\? It looks like you might be missing something.

i will feel a bit dumb if my enUS is actually a enGB and i didn't know. i had the brazilian client and had to resort to a RELOADED torrent to get an english installer since blizzard won't let me download anything besided LA clients.
if so, i would only need to repatch it? and is there any difference translation wise beetween enUS and enGB? and sorry for wasting your time

There's a few more u's in the GB translation, but that's it...

Just run the relocalizer with 127 enGB instead of 124 enUS.

It worked perfectly, my client was also enGB instead of enUS and I didn't know just like teious.

No, you have to have an install for the client language you want to use. If you want to use Chinese or Korean languages, you'll need to install that client (and then you can modify them to connect to any region you wish.)

You must have already answered this question plenty of times here, but I just want to make sure to not make anything stupid.

If I buy the ptBR game version to play on the LA servers, using your script I'll be able to change my game's language to enUS, which is not officially supported, right?

But does that make my account somehow illegal? Could I be banned of b.net and be unable to play my game?

I think that's the most important question here :/ I'd like to play in the LA server, but in English... and if there's any possibility that in a future patch or something I would get my account banned, then I'd rather play it safe and buy the American version -_-

One more brazilian here giving HUGE thanks to Girlscoutcookie! I was waiting for this to buy my Brazilian Version of Starcraft 2!

Also, I read that Tedious could not download the english client after registering the Latin american version. Did someone try to download the english client and then register another version? Did it work? (Well, I suppose I can always create another bnet account just to download the english client anyway)

If you want to play on the US servers, you must have a US license for the game. If you're in Brazil, the easiest way to do this is probably Digital Download from Battle.net.
