Hopefully it's some combination of better aesthetics (I guess), higher quality construction and quality control (and packaging), dust filtering, better internal layout, being able to support more drives or configurations or maybe even 2.5" drives, more features, better cooling, less noise from included fans, more noise from computer contained within (so less to the user), and so on. Some won't have all of the above as an advantage, just some of the above.

- all the fans are connected via header - it has rubber grommets - it's a case designed for silent computing - better HDD mounting and it can mount more as well - better tool-less system - water cooling ready - thumbscrews - it's not ugly - It's Corsair product with five years of warranty and the list probably goes on...

Which brands are reputable and which should I avoid? Hard to say. I would think that most of the brands selling enclosures aren't the ones designing the controller, and even if you did know which it used, I don't think there is a lot of information out there about them. This is one of the situations where I'd just sort newegg or Amazon by average customer review score, look around, and hope for the best USB2 is pretty slow for running a hard drive, so get a eSATA or USB3 enclosure if you care at all about the speed--well, you might not if it's just like media files on there and backup speeds are not a concern. If your computer supports neither, I'd suggest a cheap USB3 controller card to go along with a suitable enclosure.

Mushkin 120GB for 129.99 at newegg. Any other suggestion on SSD and PSU also is the mushkin 120gb at newegg a good SSD?

The Mushkin is out of stock now, but it's just pretty much the same as an OCZ Agility 3, Corsair Force 3, etc. These are the lowest-end 2nd-gen SandForce drives, with worse performance than the M4 (but who really cares?) but with some well-known reliability issues. These are generally not recommended unless you don't mind the risk.

Antec High Current Gamer 520 is available for $55: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=56787&promoid=1361 Though keep in mind that there is nothing better than Capstone for less. I do not recommend any of Sandforce SSD besides the Intel 520. Crucial M4 is often the least expensive drive that I will recommend.

Sandforce controllers had a lot of issues in the past, and although people say they're fixed now, I wouldn't buy one. If you doubt skyr, then why bother coming here to ask?

~800-850 USD What is your resolution? 1920 x 1080 What are you using it for? Facebook Flash Games, Gaming, Movies, etc What is your upgrade cycle? 3-4 years When do you plan on building it? Within a month Do you plan on overclocking? Doesn't matter as long as it does not lead to any overheating issue or make the computer noisy. Do you need an Operating System? Nope. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? No idea what this is so I probably don't need it? Where are you buying your parts from? I live in Hong Kong so I will buy the parts from the local arcade. The pricing is really similar to that of US. Addition notes: I already got a case and harddisk so don't need those. Please advice me on what I should get. For example, i5 with a more expensive graphic card or i7 with a cheaper graphic card, etc Thank you all for your suggestion. Much appreciated!

Precise detail will become known once the thing is released (which is in the next quarter, but indications are that it may be near the end of it rather that near the beginning). The main differences between Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge will be power consumption and the performance of the integrated graphics processor.

There are indications that Ivy Bridge won't be out until june (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/c3c3c2b6-602f-11e1-8de4-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1nZUj8n4G), which is still quite a wait. With the performance differences being relatively minimal, I would probably just go for Sandy Bridge myself. With computers there's always the next best thing for one of the components coming out very soon, so you'll never actually get to build one if you keep waiting on these things.

I heard it'll be out by the end of next month. I'm not sure if the performance difference will be minimal, but since I intend to use the computer for 3-4 years, is it a wise idea to wait for the next gen processor
