Aside from the fan grille color, it looks like this (the Efficient Power): http://www.be-quiet.net/be-quiet.net/index.php?StoryID=17&ProductID=241 Anyway, if indeed they released a 400W Pure Power, it would probably be FSP Aurum if it's 80 plus gold.

Alimentation Be Quiet Pure Power, 400W Certifiée 80+ Gold (Ref BE QUIET: BQT-F1-400W) The 400W should be plenty, unless the rest of the system includes overclocked 4-module Bulldozer or Sandy Bridge-E. The 350W should be enough as well, but there's no reason to get that since it's more expensive. These should be decent but pretty unremarkable aside from the efficiency.

AMD has zero chance whatsoever in the consumer market where power efficiency and single core performance is king hence they create Bulldozer, which is entirely designed for the HPC market and is actually pretty good when all threads are fully loaded (I think Cray is using Bulldozer processors). Even if Intel fucks up heavily, they can still dig themselves out with superior fabs like they did in the Netburst era.

For single monitors where the framerates are absolutely enormous, bus width also matters but guess what, framerates are way over 60 so it doesnt matter if you are bottlenecked by the bus.

Sorry to repost this, but i guess my first post wasn't noticed during homestorycup ![]() I am thinking about upgrading my PC, because i get random crashes and my gpu fan starts to make buzzing noises sometimes. Could you guys suggest me a reasonable (best bang for buck) upgrade for my current build? I use my PC mostly for gaming and office work, no heavy photoshopping but i need to do scientific image processing from time to time. I live in germany so my preferred site to purchase on would be http://www.hardwareversand.de Also, some questions: Is it possible to say if it's worth to wait for the new generation of GPUs/CPUs? Is my 2 year old PSU (80+ bronze) still ok, or would i also need to upgrade that too? Thanks guys! Thats my current build: CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 GPU: Sapphire HD5850 PSU: Cougar 550cm (550W) Mobo: Gigabyte 770TA-UD3 Ram: GSkill Ripjaws 2x2 Gb Hardrives: Intel SSD X-25m 120Gb (OS: Windows 7 64bit Professional) WD Caviar Blue 500Gb Resolution: 1680x1050 Budget: I could spend up to 400 Euros
