It also has preloaded a thousand programs that tell you to activate them every day and that are a hassle to uninstall, every single preloaded software is shareware so you dont actually get anything for free. I guess you get... a win7 so that's 100$. The mouse and keyboard are like 5$ total so please. Also can you point me to where it says it's an overclockable configuration? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229283 Also why the hell would you buy that one if you can just buy this? Really, how can these people be saying that's not a terrible offer? Because Newegg doesn't ship to Canada.. lol? It's not bad compared to the majority of others. On January 01 2012 03:27 FiWiFaKi wrote:+ Show Spoiler + The thing is, I wont find a similar build on NCIX.com for under $800 with the OS already, especially not with the ridiculous HDD prices right now. On NCIX if they assemble it, it'll cost me $800-$850, so I think it'll save me quite a bit of time. The only thing I'm worried about is getting a H61 mobo and not being able to OC it -.- I have all my peripherals. I'm pretty sure you can do a similar build for under $800 with the OS

Now with this logic... even if something is on sale I'm sure I wont be saving much money. And pre-built just seems like an easier way to go if I'm not saving much. http://pc.ncix.com/pcbuilder/pcbuilderpreview.cfm?id=3682459&skus=63499-1-0|50063-1-0|59327-1-0|44264-1-0|56549-1-0|29812-1-0|56970-1-0|45271-1-0|58746-1-0|7843-0

Also the mobo you're getting won't let you oc your cpu, your heatsink isn't the best and couldn't you save on the HDD by using used ones?

If not, you can do a 190 + 60 + 35 + 70 + 17 + 40 + 60 + 140 build that's better. At 612 or whatever that is. 711 with OS.

I mean people just thought the pre-built computer was horrid, but I feel it's quite on par with what can be gotten from NCIX =/

You get to pick the components that go into the computer and all these components come with full length warranties. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.755266&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-755266-_-Combo Paired with a 6850/6870? So it'd be $680 plus whatever more for the GPU and Win7... So once again it comes to $900 =/

The combo discountns accounts for the overpriced components.

I don't see a cooler listed so it probably doesnt have one. Which is fine because the mobo is prob H61 anyway! I agree that a similar non retarded configuration would be similar. Maybe place a call or something. I dont trust black boxes of mystery.

If you want to build it yourself, don't want a DVD burner, don't want a heatsink than the configuration from NCIX would be roughly $750.

Also I'm buying it today and I work 4pm-11pm, so I need to make all my decisions quickly. Thank you so much!

I would also recommend changing the power supply from the CX430V2 to a $60 OCZ ZS 550: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=62391&promoid=1301

I'm hoping to spend about $700 total, But I'm willing to fork out a little more if that can't get decent computer with an i5 processor What is your resolution? 1280x768 What are you using it for? I use it for alot of gaming and would like to be able to stream content. But that's not a high priority What is your upgrade cycle? I upgrade my graphics card occasionally, but aside from that i just buy a new computer When do you plan on building it? I would like to begin within the next month Do you plan on overclocking? No overclocking, pretty straightforward use. Do you need an Operating System? no Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? Possibly, if i can get one that can stream content. (which seems doubtful with my price range.) Where are you buying your parts from? Newegg would be preferable, but any American website I'm not opposed to

SLI'ing will have no difference in your ability to stream, streaming is almost entirely your CPU.

This would total around 640 or so. I guess you could change the graphics card to 560 Ti or somesuch if you want to max your budget

Eventually got an i3-2120, some cheap MSI H61 mobo for $50, a 6870, tsunami 650w (came in a bundle with the CPU), 4gb ram and some cheap antec case. Cost $470 altogether. Works beautifully. Runs BF3 and Skyrim on High with (this is an estimation so ignore it) 40-50fps on 1080p. Love it.

One more question, would the first motherboard be better then the second? It's not much more, and I went ahead and downgraded the graphics card to a Radeon HD6670, so the total still ends up around $600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128523 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157241
