But doing it this cheap is pretty cheap, if its gonna perform well too You'd be wanting to run it on lowest settings right? Like right now I'm testing my old computer that's got Athlon x64 4000+ with GT 420(the processor is 5 years old and the graphics card is still significantly worse than 6450) and the framerate's alternating between 50 and 60 fps. This comparison is for pentium G620 vs i3 2100 but Celeron G530 basically just has like 10% lower performance than Pentium G620: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/289?vs=406 So as you can see the difference between those processors in SC2 is less than 20% and price difference is about 250% but as I said, even my 5 year old Athlon can have over 50 fps on low so you wouldn't even notice the difference. (Okay to be honest the FPS drops down to like 20 during large battles but still hey) Oh also actually 6450 might be cutting it kind of close, GT 240 and HD 5570 would both be cheap and significantly better

The expected FPS for low would be like 80 I'd say.

Must not be a lot of action. Closer to worker rushing frames per second.

I'd err on the side of overkill on the CPU generally, if there's a question about it. You don't want to find out that your new CPU isn't enough for what you want to do. And fps during large battles is very important, since that's when you need to focus and actually micro, not to mention when stuttering would be easily apparent...

What is your budget? About 600-700$, i could go over if persuaded though. What is your resolution? 1680 x 1050 *i could buy another monitor, this is just one i already have What are you using it for? Starcraft 2, WoW, and if skyrim would run on it id play that too (otherwise i have an xbox). *would be cool to stream sc2 (i play on lowest and the stream wouldn't need to be high res) What is your upgrade cycle? I'm going to college in a year, and will be giving this computer to my family once i leave. They wont ever upgrade it When do you plan on building it? As soon as I have all the parts Do you plan on overclocking? i don't know what overclocking is but if its needed i'll do it Do you need an OS? yes and i am a student *unless pirate bay could give it to me Do you plan to add a second GPU for crossfire or SLI? uh... probably not? Where are you buying your parts from? Wherever they are cheapest (USA) Thanks in advance!

Here's a bit above $600 without the OS. Since you're not overclocking and thus not needing an i5-2500k I don't think NCIX has much better deals this week. You could save maybe like $10 on the hard drive or something like that. Core i5-2400 and PNY 2 x 4GB DDR3 RAM - $220 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.747218 AsRock H61M/U3S3 - $70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157236 Sapphire HD 6850 - $140, $125 AMIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 Samsung CD / DVD-RW - $18 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151233 Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm - $80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145299 Corsair CX430 V2 - $45, $35 AMIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026 Antec Three Hundred Illusion - $45 after promo code (ends 10/31) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066 edit: changed power supply and case + Show Spoiler [old] + On second thought, the Core 1000 would not allow you to fit a second hard drive with that graphics card, so maybe a bit limited and cramped. The above deal is better in general. I swapped the power supply as well since the Earthwatts cables are doable but a bit short for a bottom mount ATX tower/ Antec Earthwatts Green 380D - $40 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033 Fractal Design Core 1000 - $40 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352009

What is your budget? My Budget is 1000 euro. (this is for a monitor aswell) What is your resolution? Since I'm getting a new monitor aswell I dont know yet ![]() What are you using it for? Only gaming except for school work etc ![]() What is your upgrade cycle? My upgrade range is probally around 1 and 1/2 years. When do you plan on building it? my plan is to do it as quick as possible because BF3 just being released and soon skyrim, I feel like I need an upgrade. but I dont know enough about computers to do it myself. Do you plan on overclocking? Nope. Simply because I dont know how to do it. Do you need an Operating System? Yes. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? No. Where are you buying your parts from? I will most probally buy my parts from: http://www.komplett.se/k/k.aspx But I asume that most of the people here wont be able to understand that website. feel free to recommend parts from other websites Here's a converter from Swedish Kronor to Euros/Dollars/Pounds Swedish Kronor ---> Euros 1€ = 9 Swedish Kronor Swedish Kronor ---> Dollar 1$ = 6.4 Swedish Kronor Swedish Kronor ---> Pounds 1£ = 10.3 Swedish Kronor

The videocard you linked me to has a 500w PSU minimum requirement, and the PSU you gave me is 420w. Can you explain why this still works?

Can you explain why this still works? well, HD 4850 has PSU requirement of 450W and I'm running it overclocked to max on a 300W PSU npnp. It works because they overkill the requirements to account for terrible PSUs so that their clients wont sue them or something.

You'd have a hard time making a HD 6850 pull over 130W itself unless overclocked. I'd be surprised if the whole system topped 200W while running games, so that's well within the capabilities of both power supplies listed.
