is that rly good for sc2 and d3 maxed ? :D sounds very cheap though
|
Well in that resolution it should be, at least very close... 6770 is like 20€ more costly and only maybe 5% better so not worth it. SC2 you can max yes apart from CPU, I'm not certain about diablo.
That means that if you don't think that's enough, you're looking at a 6850: http://www3.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=39499&agid=1004
And that's about 56€ more.

is dual core really enough ? i heard a lot of people complain about sc2 eating lots of recources :S
|
D3 may have higher requirements. Since 1680x1050 is about 85% as many pixels as 1920x1080, I think HD 6850 is appropriate, possibly HD 6870.
If the budget is up to 550€, I think spending some extra on two 4GB RAM sticks rather than one, and a i5-2400 instead of a Pentium, and a higher-end graphics card would be decent investments.
edit:

But it doesn't really use more than two cores, so if you are just concerned with SC2, getting a faster dual core would make the most sense for the money.

Kind of annoying that DIablo III doesn't have info on the maxing requirements -_-

no just no
oops, very worthy double post..

Hi lads.
currently using this motherboard http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3268#sp
note the:
* Due to chipset spec limitation, if you install AM3 CPU on this motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s); however, the frequency of AM3 CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information.
now, I was considering either upgrading to a 2500k with an intel board, or keeping the board and going with a 965, for money saving purposes. i want to be able to stream 480p at least with the setup. my question is whether this system bus speed limitation will affect anything noteworthy, for my purposes.
also, if anyone has thoughts on the big vs. small upgrade i'd love to hear them. i don't see myself doing much demanding processor work other than streaming.
cheers!

That's slightly worse than the 350€ build with the Pentium, for SC2.

thanks for that info

nothing, it's just that the screen is 1080p, so to run games at the graphic level you want you will need an adequate GPU, that is all

kay .. so around 400 € is the price over all thank you tl community <3
|
Thank you so much. that was extremely helpful !!!

Okay i'm planning to get a new PC.
- budget: +- 600-650 euro - resolution: 1024x1080 - gaming (SC2,D3,Skyrim,BF3) - office stuff, some photoshopping, - Don't really plan on overclocking, never did it - will use Azerty.nl as site
so far i got this setup: http://azerty.nl/winkelmandje/winkelmandje/?legen=1&http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/postmessage.phpproduct[7517]=1&product[281570]=1&product[409338]=1&product[225309]=1&product[396815]=1&product[423778]=1&product[405098]=1&product[363680]=1&product[47498]=1&product[230178]=1 + Show Spoiler + Intel 15-2400 3.1 Ghz 163,92 E
Sapphire Radeon 6870 151,09 E
ASRock H61M 53,76 E
Corsair CX500 V2 (500 W) 52,63 E
Samsung F3 Spinpoint (1TB) 73,43E
Kingston Valueram 2x4 GB 40,91E
Samsung DVD/RW station 17,20E
Cooler Master Elite 370 41,30E
Revoltec Airguard 4,65E
Montage + 1y warranty 59,00E
Total: 657,89 Euro
Is this a reasonable build? What should i change? Just need some good feedback Since i never built a PC, i plan on letting the site do this for me (1 year warranty on all the parts + the montage for 59euro.) The HDD prices seem to have gone up quite a bit, should i wait for the prices to drop again?
Thanks in advance

HDD prices have went up because of short supply due to the flooding in Thailand. You can wait if you wish. The configuration you have there is a good one.

u meant me ? ^^ dont know who u reffering to

he was referring to my build ^_^.

1 year warranty is useless as the parts should all have their own warranties anyway, seems like a total waste of money.
Apart from that, the mobo, graphics card, cpu all seem good.
Why not this hard drive instead, it's larger too: http://azerty.nl/8-857-185571/seagate-barracuda-7200-11-va.html
The case's okay but not the best, I'd wait for BitFenix Merc.
Also it's true that you could get this for cheaper from Germany.
EDIT: Oh I totally overlooked your resolution, is it really 1280x1024?
In that case I really believe that this graphics card would be better suited for you if you want to max the games in that res: http://azerty.nl/0-2963-404325/sapphire-radeon-hd-6750-grap.html
