Too bad 22nm tri-gate transistors are going to blow everything up in about half a year. For servers, it's Intel's process advantage that will soon be too overwhelming.

It has some intelligent power saving features and performs better than i7 2600k in most multithreaded applications. It's like when AMD released 64 bit technology and people said it was unnecessary. Maybe if 8 core processors becomes the norm then people will try to develop games and programs to use more than two cores. And because it will be regarded as a failure, the pricing will probably go down later on.

![]() XD omfg god dam, amd way to make intel looks great even in shit like ciniebench and x264 benchmarks in which all cores can be taxed you're only breaking about even.

That's so much in power consumption for that processor... wow... and in most cases, they compare it to a stock 2600K... anand said he was gonna not sleep until he's done... so it might up in a few hours... jf-amd is evil

Now try that on a motherboard with a reasonable price tag. ![]() edit: AT review up as of 1-2 minutes ago: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4955/the-bulldozer-review-amd-fx8150-tested

sc2 isn't going to use more than 2 cores though so IPC per core helps significantly for intel in that one

It actually performs pretty damn well on the id tech5 engine.

I found this pretty funny, from HardwareCanuck's article: At these settings, the system is is idling at around 195W at idle, but when running the aforementioned Prime95 stress test, it pulls an immense 550W from the socket. If we also add a fully loaded GeForce GTX 460 1GB, that number spikes up to almost 800W. Has anyone realized that this is 32nm and you need 1.4v for 4.6GHz? That's pretty pathetic...
