How much power your configuration needs depends on the parts... but if the 430w power supply you have is a good model such as the Antec Earthwatts 430D than it will be adequate for a Sandybridge + ~$200 card. i dont think its a good model, its quite old, ill have a look tomorrow once i get the case open, thanks

As always, it's marked-up quite a bit being a prebuilt (you could get an i5-2400 and 6850 for that price), but regardless, it should handle medium @1080p just fine And yeah, delay time is also something to consider, although you'd be hard-pressed to find many monitors that are >5ms

Apparently he has a 2560x1440 screen that he wants to run BF3 on (with good graphics settings i presume. Are there any new graphics cards coming out soon? I heard someone say Q42011 but I can't find much info on it online (ATI 7000 series?) If current prices stand, should I get a GTX 570, 580 or maybe 2 ATI 6950 in CF? What would be enough to run smoothly on that screen? The budget isnt that big, I basically have somewhere around 300~400$ for the graphics card alone. I can't imagine a 570 having trouble. But if you're considering pure raw power, and ignoring all the other factors that come with multi-GPU, out of the three options you listed, CFX6950 will basically destroy the other two options. Really doubt you need that much though. Assuming this is correct, and a worst case scenario, unless you really like placebo effect, a single 570 or 6970 should do you fine. ok, then my total build is this (I might have to cut something though since it's almost 2000SEK too much): ASRock P67 Extreme 4 REV B3 Corsair 8GB (2x4096MB) CL9 1600Mhz XMS3 1,5V Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3GHz Corsair SSD Force 3 Series 120GB 2 XFX Radeon HD6950 2048MB Noctua NH-U9B SE2 Fractal Design Tesla 650W 80+ Fractal Design Arc Svart Main questions are anything I should know about the CF cause I haven't built a rig with CF before... What's microstuttering, do it come with bridge, will that 650W PSU do with the CF + OC and can I unlock the shaders on them like normally? And apart from that, does the build look fine? Anything I could change/cut?

Your motherboard should be at most 2/3s of the price. Get a less obscene CPU cooler, like a Xigmatek gaia or hyper212+ Buy the cheapest DDR3 kit in the desired amount of RAM available, corsair is usually overpriced. Or were you getting 2x6950s? Microstuttering is very infrequently a problem, it can't be an issue unless your FPS is low, as worst frame-times will still be undetectable. Even if you go CFX 6950, you shouldn't need a $150 motherboard. Prices are kind of hard though.

Speaking of, release of a new game is the worst time to try and play it with CFX or SLI. Driver support tends to be a bit weak for a few weeks, even moreso in the unaffiliated brand. And I believe nVidia is the supporter for BF3, yes?

And is the cooler master 212+ as good as that noctua fan? I don't want it to be noisy. So the 6950 CF won't work well with BF3?

Picking motherboards is impossible without knowing available selection. Well, if you want quiet, that Noctua will probably be better, yes. And as for how well 6950 CFX will work, it's hard to know final results, especially since they're going reasonably early with an open beta. They may well have drivers up to par with nVidia at release, but there's still almost always significant room for improvement over release scaling. And of course, the tidbits skyR has below are good, as always.

And shouldn't you be picking a case without mesh if you are concerned about noise levels? what would you recommend? Also I changed the motherboard to Gigabyte Z68AP-D3, it's cheaper but it only has 1 16x pcie, the other one is 4x. Is there a noticeable difference?
