OCZ psu is quality, the one you selected isn't as good as it's labeled to be relativly
motherboard is fine.... MSI is a good brand
Samsung 830 series is reliable as Crucial M4

Hello TL!
I'm thinking about Upgrading my computer (mainly Motherboard / CPU / RAM)
My current Setup:
Case NZXT Hades Some cheap Asrock Mobo (socket 775) Intel Quad Core Q6700 @2,6Ghz 4GB RAM Radeon HD 6850 Main 500GB HD and an old 80GB HD for music and stuff
Monitor BenQ 24 inch LED @ 1920x1080 res
This PC is (and will be) used for gaming and I do not plan to overclock.
My plan was to upgrade to socket 2011 on a thight budget ; I plan to spend around 500€ on the upgrade.
On this budget the processor is clear (the other 2011 CPUs are much more expensive)
CPU: **Intel Core i7-3820 3.60Ghz Box Socket 2011 Model number: i7-3820 Frequency (MHz): 3600 Turbo frequency (MHz) 3900 Socket Socket 2011 (LGA2011)
What Mobo and RAM would you suggest? do you think I should be looking to upgrade something else?(I'd prefer not to if its not really necessary ^^)
Thank you TL!

If it's purely for gaming, upgrading to LGA 2011 is ridiculous, as extra physical cores are the primary reason to run 2011, and you won't see a benefit from those OR HT in most games. An i7 3820 is even worse, since it doesn't even get the extra cores. It's going to have nearly no gain over an i7 2600k, which comes with WAY lower price premiums.
If you wanted to stream 1080p, I could see going for a hex-core 2011 build, but otherwise, you can get way more for the money.
Quad channel RAM and large amounts of RAM are also terrible in value for gaming purposes, which would be the other potential reason to go 2011.

That's like saying you want to upgrade your 1995 Ford Focus (edit: think Wolkswagen Jetta I guess for Europeans) to a Lamborghini because you're on a tight budget.
Just thought I'd put that out there for the sake of comparison. I'd say it's quite an accurate and not exaggerated analogy.
Clearly, agreed with JingleHell. For you, something like a core i5 (3450, 3550, or 3570K if overclocking) would probably make the most sense.
Pair it with a LGA1155 motherboard chipset B75 or H77 or, if overclocking the 3570K, Z75 or Z77.
Any 240pin DDR3 1333 or 1600 RAM rated to run at 1.5V will be fine. Avoid tall heatspreaders especially if thinking about overclocking as it may block aftermarket heatsinks. A 2x4GB pair is quite inexpensive.

Hello,
I'm trying to build a streaming computer that can stream in at least 720P with out lagging[assuming good net connection..] at 1680x1050 as well as record videos in 720p+ with out lagging me.
The thing is I'm trying to do it as low-cost[but spending what I have to for good performance].
Things I am going to re-use: Case SSD 8 GB RAM [guessing I'll need to replace my power supply - only 450 W] Radeon HD5770 video card[as I understand it, this is good enough to run SC2 and stream on high or medium with out lag given good enough other specs? if not I'd like to know].
So I'm guessing what that leaves is: Intel motherobard some form of intel processor, should I be going for i3 or i7? Power supply - I'm guessing some good brand 600W one should do? a different HD for recording video to to reduce lag. [1TB I'd assume for simplicity].
So I guess that leaves me with the questions, do I go i5 or do I have to go i7 for streaming in those specs, and if so which ones. Then I'd like to know of my video card should do and if not what kind should I be looking it...

MSI is the worst motherboard manufacturer of the big four and OCZ ZS by great wall won't exactly kill your computer, but I wouldn't call it quality. Modxstream is terrible though. Also why would he need a 650w PSU? Efficiency is going to be terrible... That site doesn't have many options though. Antec HCG 520 is better but more expensive. The GS500 is just a bit more expensive, if it's the new reharsh then it's a pretty good buy.

OCZ ZS is Sirtec / Highpower (not Great Wall), while ZT and ZX are Great Wall. I don't think you can consider Antec HCG 520W to be better than either ZS or ZT, definitely not enough to recommend as a replacement when it's more expensive. It's not like HCG 750/900, which are better.
GS500 is CWT DSAII, same as Corsair CX V2, so not good (not bad, just not worth the usual price). Other Corsair GS series are CWT PSHII, which are a step up but still generally overpriced. Corsair GS lineup is getting refreshed though, but I wouldn't count on those being what's available in stores.
As for MSI, I don't know what kind of evidence we're goign to get. Big four's all had issues.

Hi all, I'm currently in the market to build a new PC, mainly for personal use, but I want it to be able to handle my work if I ever need to work at night from home/on the weekends. My main question is: is there a video card that can support three monitors on its own (that is, without the need for SLI/Crossfire)? I have nothing against SLI or Crossfire, I'd just like to keep it down to one card if at all possible (just a weird personal preference, I guess). I know some of the newer Nvidia cards can support a two DVI/one HDMI combo with monitors, but are they the only ones? And yes, I will be playing games on this too.

- What is your budget?
About 1Million-1.5million KRW
- What is your resolution?
Anything, a monitor isn't needed and the monitor is 1920x1080
- What are you using it for?
Gaming, surfing the net, watching downloaded videos,
- What is your upgrade cycle?
About a year to 2 years
- When do you plan on building it?
Within the next 3 months
- Do you plan on overclocking?
nope
- Do you need an Operating System?
Yes
- Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
No.
- Where are you buying your parts from?
Yongsan (Korea computer markets), Gmarket,
I know it's a difficult thing becuase of buying the parts at markets and what not, but a rough price up would be much appreciated ^^ I already have a laptop, so I don't need to worry about connecting to TVs and stuff....but yeah I would just like to know a good strong build. This is also my first build ^^

What is your budget? ~900 AUD
What is your resolution? 1920 x 1080
What are you using it for? Mostly gaming: D3, Tera, SC2, Dota 2 and probably new games when they come out
What is your upgrade cycle? ~4 years
When do you plan on building it? 2-3 weeks
Do you plan on overclocking? No, I managed to stay on GT9500 for 5 years so I think i can manage without it
Do you need an Operating System? No
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? No
Where are you buying your parts from? MSY Australia: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf Can get parts from www.umart.com.au or www.pccasegear.com.au but I figured Australia has a lack of variety anyway and those 2 places a slighly more expensive than MSY
Already have keyboard/mouse/monitor
What I currently gathered after reading through the thread: intel i5-3450 $202 Asrock H77-PRO4-MVP $99 8g kit 1600 patriot gamer2 $49 sapphire 7850HD 2G $269 antec 300 $57 Antec Neo Eco 520C 520W PSU $66 Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA3 1TB $92
total $834
I was thinking if I should get a case which can support USB 3.0 but got no idea which one to choose... GTX560ti is available at another store (Umart) for $249 but its been out of stock for a while so i'm not sure if I should bother waiting for it or just go ahead and grab the 7850 Thank you

i think most newer 68xx, 69xx, 78xx, 79xx radeon cards support 3 monitors by itself (could be more, im not gonna list all of them), only the newer GTX (670?),680,690 support 3 out of the box. You should list a budget so we can accurately list give you advice on a specific card.

thanks for the input , as you see , I dont know Shit about building computers , i thought the 2011 socket was the newest so why not put the latest so it lasts longer before another change.
Thanks to your help i am able to throw a SSD in the build and its still a little less than 500€

ill not overclock ATM but i saw that the price for the K CPU with Z mobo is almost the same as the normal ones so I'll go with it and maybe OC in the future if i want to.
if you have any other suggestions im eager to hear them!
Thank you very much!

That's where I bought my new parts a few days ago. Ordered at around lunch time and got all parts by the next day before noon. Very satisfied. Cheaper than gmarket, auction, etc.

[Edit: and why better? Did I choose something wrong?] OCZ psu is quality, the one you selected isn't as good as it's labeled to be relativly motherboard is fine.... MSI is a good brand Samsung 830 series is reliable as Crucial M4 Hmmm.... OCZ PSUs quality, MSI good brand? What am i reading here... Source on both of those claims, please?
Ups, I confused ZS with ZT. However, judging by this review, I don't see how you could put the ZT lineup over Antec HCG. The ZS reviews seems a bit more favorable though.
