I sort of want to sell the 64GB SSD to reduce the overall cost of the 128GB I plan on purchasing but for the small amount of money I'm going to recoup, I don't feel that it is worth it, but I'm stuck in two minds. ( both would be purchased new) It depends on what you're doing and what you're expecting. An HD 5870 is nothing to sneeze at, unless you're looking to max out every setting for the newest games. If you're just playing SC2, even an HD 5870 isn't going to be fully utilized.

It depends on the model of the power supply. If it can do around 620W safely, then it's okay. Not everything actually works as advertised. Most power supplies that are 620W, that people buy, are probably Seasonic S12II or M12II, Antec Neo Eco or High Current Gamer, or a particular older model by Corsair or Silver Power. If it's one of the above, it's manufactured by Seasonic and can be expected to actually power what you want to run easily.

I guess i will be fine then. I can get a 460 gtx for 40$ so i think it is worth it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help! Yeah, I ran SLI 460s on a TX 650, with an i7 930, OCed. Never had an issue, even under full absurd load thermal testing with P95 and Furmark, so you'll be fine with that.

looking to play most modern games @ 1080p near maxed including starcraft 2. if i dont need that much power what are some good price/performance cards around the 200$ area. (and i dont like nvidia had bad experiences with them) you should get the MSI radeon 6870, its only 200 bucks and its really good. For the $200 price range that you are suggesting. I would say that hands down the 6870 is the way to go. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127560 But if you want to chip in a few more dollars , you could buy the nvidia gtx 560ti http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604 But i would still recommend the Radeon 6870. Awesome for its price.

EDIT: If you still want a cheaper 6870, they're still good price/performance last I heard

That's the problem with RAM, it's frequently not tested for voltage and speed at the same time.

So what setting(s) should I change in the UEFI to try and sort this? The real question is how much difference you think it makes? It's probably a BIOS revision related thing with the new motherboard causing the issues. You can try tweaking your RAM voltage up a notch, and see if it works then. Or you can run it at 1333 because unless you're zipping and unzipping or transcoding for money, the difference is pretty negligible.

It's more frustration-related than performance related.

Thing is that annoys me is every now and again for some reason the frequency resets itself so then I have to open the side panel and press the button etc. It's more frustration-related than performance related. Well, the reset thing could be CMOS battery related. You shouldn't have the BIOS resetting itself unless you're messing with settings and have some sort of OC recovery tool in the BIOS.

On my mothers computer, its a dual core with integrated graphics, I got 60 fps even in 4v4 maxed battles on lowest settings. If I was to get something like this, http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.CM_SCID.coll.item.E256550.desc.Acer-DesktopCore-i7-4GB-RAM-1TB-HD-with-Windows-7 I'd imagine I'd get the 60+ fps on lowest graphics and be able to stream right? It's probably not the best deal, but the 5 payment thing is very very convenient + the warranty system for qvc is pretty good. i mean, i have a ati 4850, but i dunno if the wattage, case size, or MB would allow me to swap it. any thoughts on this?

What is your budget? Around €1,500. But i've won a inwin maelstorm case, so i would like to use it. What is your resolution? A new monitor is needed, the higher the better i guess? A good sized monitor for gaming. What are you using it for? Gaming, no streaming. All types of games. Mostly SC2, Diablo3. What is your upgrade cycle? No upgrading planned. Probably 2y orso before i buy new one. When do you plan on building it? Now Do you plan on overclocking? No Do you need an Operating System? yes Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? no idea Where are you buying your parts from? alternate.nl, hardwareversand.de or other firms that deliver to belgium
