Your components are more than capable. (Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-05-17 11:00 EDT-0400) Not bad, here's some suggestions, assuming this is for general gaming. Also remember in Canada you can do pricematching at NCIX and some other places as well, so you'll have to see how you can take advantage of that to maybe reduce the number of orders. skyR is the Canadian wizard here so what I'm saying might be invalidated by his deal-finding and price-matching, if he stops playing D3 long enough to post. - get cheapest DDR3 1333 RAM that runs @ 1.5V. Don't forget to take shipping into account. RAM speed is the last thing to worry about - that's the loud-as-hell single-fan XFX 6870; i'd get either this 460 or the 6870. They should be extremely similar in performance but the 460 is much cheaper so it's a better value. http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/part/evga-video-card-01gp31361kr http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/part/xfx-video-card-hd687azdfc - Hitachi Desktar 1TB is $60 @ CanadaComputers. Unless somebody else here can point out if there's anything particularly bad about Hitachi, I'd get that instead of the Spinpoint: http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/part/hitachi-internal-hard-drive-0f10383 - PSU is good, just be aware it doesn't come with a power cord, and it only has one 6pin connector so you'll need an adapter to connect teh 2nd 6pin on the video card. the first video cards I suggested will come with one. XFX doesn't bundle adapters, so you'll have to get one. Getting a PSU with both connectors is not worth the extra $ IMO due to the extra cost, unless you don't mind getting something with rebates such as this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-power-supply-oczzs550w - motherboard should be... okay... I'm not sure if that particular Gigabyte model had issues or not, and Z68 for that price will allow you a 400Mhz turbo overclock on the i5 2400, I guess. However, if your primary gaming is not SC2 or Skyrim, I'd probably get an i3 2120, less expensive mobo, and HD 7850 myself.

Thank you guys for your help!! Since you didn't post prices I'm assuming your using newegg. First off the PSU is overkill, you don't need 650w for a single gpu build. Second, a Caviar black has almost NO advantages over the Caviar Blue. Third, you cannot OC a 3450 much pass 3.7 as its not an unlocked CPU. Forth, you can get a Hyper 212+ for $19 AMIR while a 212 EVO is $32 AND the ONLY difference between the two is the EVO has a little better Fan. i5-3570k & BIOSTAR TZ77B & Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600mhz $359.97 ($10.00MIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.942848 Rosewill CAPSTONE 450w 80plus GOLD $64.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB & DVD Burner $83.98 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.936994 HIS 7850 $249.99 ($229.99AMIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161406 Cooler Master Hyper 212+ $29.99 ($19.99AMIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 and add in the case you picked out CM HAF 912 $59.99 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 For a total of: $848.91 ($808.91AMIR) FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE. EDIT: WHOOPS forgot to put the hdd/dvdburner in the total LOL.

Thanks for the assistance, but my costs which i indeed get from newegg is considering taxes as well since I live in California so I need to compromise on things to compensate for the tax. I really like being safe with PSUs and will stick with the one that I listed. I also am getting the WD Black because I only use WD Black HDD. Also, please respond to these questions. UM.. the PSU I posted is of VASTLY higher quality and has a higher efficiency. (posted from xbitlabs.com) ![]() These are reletively old components and old components use more energy because they are less efficient. that being said ALL but the HIGH END comp number 2 used less than 371w under FULL Load as in furmark+Prime95 was running. Now your EFFICIENT Computer will use ~200-250w under FULL LOAD so there is no reason to waste money on watts you'll never use. The GPU won't bottleneck the CPU. The motherboard will easily handle the CPU/GPU. The Hyper 212+ is also very good.
