How good would SC2 or DotA 2 run on this computer?
You're combining an APU with an actual GPU... and you don't need more than 4gb of RAM if you're only playing games like that.
You can run on low fairly well, medium playable, but I wouldn't go any higher than that with an APU or a 520....
If you haven't bought this yet, what is your budget?

Yeah that's what I am going to do. lol.
I have almost everything priced matched that besides the memory, motherboard, and PSU.
If you guys could help me out with those it would be gladly appreciated

It would be better if you gave us a list of what you plan on getting so we have an idea of the budget you have in mind...

When I click on many things listed online at Fry's, they're not available in store.
More or less you want the cheapest 7200 rpm 3.5" hard drive of acceptable capacity, the cheapest socket 1155 motherboard with the features you need, and so on. There's not much to say. Just check the price with what's online.
This RAM (2 x 4GB, $36) is actually available: http://www.frys.com/product/6800576?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
HAF 912 ($55): http://www.frys.com/product/6348461?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
I didn't check every motherboard listed, but go through those. The power supply selection really sucks though. If they're in stock, some kind of Antec Earthwatts, maybe even Basiq 430W (VP450 is a little worse, Basiq 500 is worse, Basiq 350 is also not good) or Basiq Plus 550W, any High Current Gamer is okay. I didn't see it listed, but Corsair CX V2 is okay as far as budget units go. Anything else by Corsair ranges from decently good to better, but they tend to be overpriced. Avoid Thermaltake TR2 and anything that looks sketchy. The lower-end, cheaper Enermax NAXN units are bad. Some Enermax NAXN (the 80+, 82+) are pretty similar to Corsair CX V2 though.
For monitors, it depends on what you want. A reasonable cheapish all-rounder with a minimal stand is Asus VS229H-P (eIPS), for $175, $165 on newegg: http://www.frys.com/product/6895066?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236205
You can take a look at that. Other than that, just look around in store for something that looks reasonably nice.

K sounds good thanks!

Oh, I forgot to mention low-end Cooler Master power supplies (anything not a Silent Pro, though GX450 is okay too) to be something to avoid like the common Thermaltake TR2 models.
|
any recommendation for z77 boards? I can't decide with all the features for each manufacturer and model. ASUS,GIGABYTE, MSI
|
Budget? Gonna be overclocking a lot? What kind of peripherals do you need to hook up? Do you need to SLI? Need more information...
|
200-250. Never tried OC (would like to give it a shot to increase performance when gaming) Peripheral just the 6gv2 and deathadder and expansion slots just for my gtx 560 ti. No real intention for SLI. would you like a current list of components inside my chassis?
|
Yeah knowing what you are going to be putting inside of it is also important since I have a feeling you are going to make the common mistake of buying parts for overclocking when you have no intention of overclocking (or can't) and throwing $100 out the window that could have been spent on getting a completely higher tier of GPU.
|
ASUS > MSI >>>>>> Gigabyte
Either the P8Z77-V or Z77A-GD65 , GD55 would also be fine.
Though it's strange you're looking at such an expensive board if you've never overclocked before.
|
exactly, I need advice on which would be suitable. this would be more towards gaming. anywho here is whats inside my desktop

So you're buying a 3570k or 2500k right? lol. You can't put an AMD processor into an Intel motherboard.
|
lol, yeah i'm making the switch to intel i'll grab the i5 3750k
|
Ok it was worse than i thought heh.
EDIT: Oh ok. lol
|
|
LX and LE sucks.
ME doesn't have much choices... doesn't even have the Z77-M Pro or Z77A GD55 -_-
Either get the Z77A G45 or P8Z77-V
You might as well wait for the 23rd and purchase the board along with the 3570k..
|
Ya I plan on buying once they release ivy bridge, maybe the will get those mobo's you suggested.
|
Also if you are going to buy a $200 board and a 3750k, overclock! At least a bit man, otherwise it's a waste of money.
