I'm thinking about getting a new gaming headset and I am deciding between SteelSeries Siberia v2 or the CM Storm Sirus.
I will be using the headset mainly for gaming but there will be times when I will also listen to music and watch movies.

Any suggestions?

What would be the best between a Logitech G930 and a Steelseries Siberia V2? My Siberia broke down, and I can't decide whether to take up the offer on a G930 or to buy a new Siberia

I like really fat, really comfy headphones/headsets, I was thinking of buying the razer banshee until I realized it was USB

So I'm using the akg 702's instead =\

Is there any reason to buy a wireless headset?

Any decent headphones out there around the $50 area? I'm looking for good build quality and decent microphone. If possible, I'd like something with a "flat" response and decent dynamics. Ofc, I'm not looking for monitor quality sound and I understand I get what I pay for (hence "flat" in quotations), I just can't stand it when headphones forcibly boost the bass.

Edit
Have my eyes on Plantronics but I'm not sure.

Edit 2
Fuck it, I'll just save up. Just came to the consensus that everything under $80 sucks.

I can't speak for the CM Storm Sirus headset, but I just got the SteelSeries Siberia V2 today. I'm highly satisfied with this purchase. The sound quality is very high, the headphones are unbelievably comfortable, and the microphone has an intelligent retractable design.

CM Storm makes solid products (I have their mouse and love it) so you'll want to look into its headphones as well, but I can vouch for the SteelSeries being a great headset.

I'm so caught up right now trying to buy a nice headset. I won't spend 200$ on one but 150 is an ok price range, just because I think 200$ is an absurd amount to spend on headsets.

I currently have a Logitech G35.
Here are the options I've done research on:

1) Steel Series Siberia V2
2) Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A

If you have any recommendations let me know :D maybe I'll paypal a little gift to whoever recommends me a headset I fall in love with ^_^

Edit : It has to look beautiful

I just bought a Siberia V2, it's green and gorgeous haha. Not to mention it works incredibly for whatever I've been doing(SC2, music, skype).

I've heard good things about Turtle Beach though
I fuckin' love lurkers...

If you're looking for great headphones as far as comfort/sound response goes (keep in mind it's open backed much like many other gaming headsets)Superlux HD 668
[image loading]
They're 42$ here, though I can't vouche for the retailer from a buyer's perspective headphone enthusiasts at quite a few places have nothing but great thing to say about these headphones. just get a simple clip on mic http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b is very cheap for 8$ shipped from amazon. And you have a headset almost on par with other sets costing 200~. And if you wanted some very nice sound from your PC you could always go one tiny step further and get a Xonar DG

Buying headphones with a built in mic really ups the price of otherwise mediocre/crap components than if you bought them seperately.

Aiwa HP-x223

MSRP $30 and has Excellent Sound.

Price and performance was so good they had to stop making them, and destroy the company and cannibalize the company to Sony. You can't find them retail anymore but they can still be found if you look hard.

Yes they don't look like goofy space-age hipster bullshit. Thats beautiful to me. No microphone because anyone who knows shit about anything knows you don't bundle that shit together. I can wear these for days and not feel them.

I prefer bitcoins as payment.

The cord is extra long so beware of The Slayer of Headphones

Hi guys, so I have not been able to have a headset last longer than 3 months. I'm willing to pay about ~$100 for a headset and have these requirements:

-Must have a mic
-Must be USB (I have a macbook pro and as such only have 1 audio port to work with)
-Must be reasonably comfortable (none of this behind the ear form factor)
-Must have some sort of long lifespan (Is it possible to get something to last > 1 year or is this going to be an annual purchase?)
-Must ship to Canada

I'm not a hardcore gamer, But I want something I can wear while streaming (MTGO, not sc2 if that's relevant) as well as for skype calls. I don't care about bass or sound levels or anything like that, I just want a robust, functional headset. I've been looking at the SteelSeries Siberia v2 USB, but apparently it's pretty cheap for such an expensive headset.

Any recommendations? Many thanks for any help.

Many pro gamers use the Steelseries Siberia V2, and is widely popular and looks quite good too, I've never heard much about the Turtle Beat Ear force Z6A, although TB's are good, I think that the Siberia V2 is just better. Get it on amazon/newegg too, should be a bit cheaper.

Bought the Logitech G35 about a week ago now and I'm pretty impressed thus far. Have had no issues even running Windows 7 and the sound is great. Would recommend for sure!

dont get anything turtle beach...seriously. in terms of 'headsets' the highest rates and generally regarded as the best are the razer carcharias or the corsair HS1A, which can be tricky to get these days, but i dont know if its successors, the vengeance 1300 and vengeance 1500 are all that up to scratch. However the better option is usually to get a nice pair of good quality headphones, and get a cheap but decent mic to clip on / mount or whatever.

fellas, please, don't fall for the gaming headset trap. Turtlebeach/plantronics/icemat make some pretty damn atrocious headphones.

You'd be much better off getting a decent headphone and adding on a clip on or standalone mic. Not only will you get a much better sound system that will actually help with games that require positioning, but you'll be able to listen to music that will blow you away.

AudioTechnica AD700's are a great place to start.
