I don't think it's so much noise cancelling you need, but a mic with a strongly directional pattern, so it picks up you rather than noise from the case.

But if you already have a nicer mic like a Blue Snowball, I'd look into reducing the noise of the computer and moving the case further away. If the case is to the right, you can try flipping it around, if a lot of noise is coming from say a mesh side panel on the left side. Turn the GPU fan profile down, undervolting if possible. Replace the case with some kind of Fractal Design Define R3, Antec Solo II / P183, etc. with a solid construction, sound dampening, etc. Unless maybe it's running SLI or Crossfire, you could probably reduce the noise to an acceptable level on that budget.

edit: so what's the hardware and case?

I appreciate the suggestions allot but my previous headset died so i am going to order a new pair anyway and was wondering what i should go for. Do you have any idea what headsets have mics with a strong directional pattern? I cant move my case since i live in a 3by3 basement, and there is no room since the half of the room is one huge closet with doors. Forever alone -_____-
And i don't really want to replace my casing etc. Thanks again <3

The case is a Antec Nine Hundred Two and i just use a single gtx570 with a Be quiet! Straight Power BQT E8-CM-680W.

I know the Siberia is popular and all but upon researching the web i found that the g930 outperforms the Siberia v2 in both price for quality and sound quality :S. Am i wrong? I'm leaning towards buying the G930

The PSU should be quiet and GTX 570 isn't a hugely loud graphics card either. If you're running a stock fan on your CPU and don't plan on overclocking consider something similiar to this:
http://www4.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=28343&agid=297

Though you forgot to say your processor so it might not even be compatible.

I am looking for a gaming headset and am not sure which to choose, SiberiaV2 seems to have good standings but I already own a Logitech G35 (Which sound I am beginning to dislike a lot)

I am looking for a headset that offers superior sound quality to the one I currently have and I'd like it to be between 90/150 euro (could go higher but it'd have to be for a real benefit)

Maybe get a seperate mic for my headphone?

'Gaming' is pretty much irrelevant. Get a quality headphone like Audio Technica AD700s. Or if you want something cheaper, Samson SR850s or Sennheiser HD555s. Then add on a separate mic or a clip-on mic.

Hey guys, I need some help.
I want to get a headset from santa for christmas. I am looking for one that has a good mic and isnt more than 200 dollars.

If you dont know which one is the "best", can you respond with the ones you are wearing and post a one sentence review? I could use some help. Thanks TL.

Corsair HS1A for $35 if anyone is interested: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=57900&promoid=1146

I have the USB variant and it's a very nice headset. Good microphone and nice noise isolation.

I'm currently using Steelseries 7H usb headset and I'm all around impressed with the sound quality. I upgraded a while back from the Steelseries 5hv2 and wow what a difference. Comfortable and fairly light. Also comes with leather and cloth ear cups and can be changed within a few seconds.

So my current headset is broken and I think that it's time for me to buy an actually decent headset. However, my last 2 headset purchases have been a total fail and I really don't know much about them, so I'd be hoping to get some recommendations from more knowledgeable people.

It'd be great if it could make use of the full benefit of the Asus Xonar DG 5.1 soundcard. It would be mainly used for music and gaming and should have a GOOD bass. Budget would be around 100€ but can go higher if it's worth it. It shouldn't leak a ton of noise as I tend to listen to music pretty loud and it'd suck if everyone could hear the music I'm listening to at say, a bus. The mic should also be pretty good without my S's getting fucked up like in the cheap mics. They also should be pretty soft / comfortable.

I've been looking at the SteelSeries Siberia and it's around 64€. That seems decent and I've heard pretty good things about it. However, I've decided to ask around - would there be any decent headsets in these sites for around 100€ or less(budget not absolute):

Get quality (non-gaming) headphones & a separate mic.

Since I know you like to know more than just "buy this," I'd recommend checking out this thread:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1014902/most-commonly-recommended-audio-products

then maybe sticky threads in that same sub-forum if it doesn't already settle your decision. HOWEVER: be warned, these guys are beyond fanatics about this stuff. Their knowledge also forces upon them a terrible (and expensive) desire for perfection. Still, if you want something that really benefits from your (good) sound card, the headphones they recommend will probably be way better than a headset.

Well I'd rather use it for calls and stuff as well and I'd prefer to lay down on my bed or use it with my netbook and so on so a seperate mic would be suboptimal for me, but I'll be sure to check that thread.

There are a lot of quality (and fairly popular) headphones not listed in that overclock.net post, but that's to be expected, when there are so many options available. Also the "audiophile" sound card / DAC options includes at least one or two snake oil products backed by BS marketing tactics.

Aside from that it looks like a pretty good overview.

Even from "real" audio manufacturers like Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, etc., the gaming headsets are not particularly good values. The mics aren't exactly like broadcast gear either. The cost of the Xonar Xense set is high because there's a Sennheiser PC 350 along with a mid-high end Asus Xonar card.

If you already have a Xonar DG, you should just get the PC 350 by itself if you were interested in that. However, PC 350 isn't exactly bass oriented.

But I don't think anything under 100 euros fits your criteria. Just make sure you get a closed-back model, and one with relatively good isolation, if you don't want leaking.
