I felt like I am obligated to post this. Just recieved my new SS Siberia V2 (blue) and my first impression is Wowwww. It is a complete headset and every feature so far has exceeded my expectations. Its 90$ dollars but now and until the 12th of September everything is 30% off! It came out to be only 60$ so if looking for new peripherials/on the fence about it I HIGHLY recommend the V2. It has everything you could want in a headset.

Logitech G35 and Sennheiser PC350 are my favorites, Every Steelseries headset Ive bought has broken and the Razer products Ive tried have all been mediocre at best.

I'd say the sennheiser is better, but its a close call and the g35 is cheaper

I am probably an outlier here, but I always recommend getting a good headset and then some cheap separate mic. That way you can get what you really want sound wise.

I personally use a Sennheiser HD-497 headset and then just this cheap Logitech USB headset with a mic. I just put the Logitech headset around my neck and use the mic for speaking and my Sennheisers for sound.

I have a very simple question that doesn't warrant it's own thread and this seems to be the best place to put it so: I havn't owned a "gaming headset" in a very very long while, I'm currently using zalman+555s but the issue with this is that I play in quite a noisy environment and the zalman mic obviously isn't suitable, will any gaming headsets mic completely cancel out any and all noise except my voice and if so are there some which do a better job than others?

you can never really cancel out a noisy environment at best you can get a single direction mic so it will only pick up sound from the direction of your mouth ionno if the zalman clip on mic is one or not, it's not it's Omnidirectional

I would say steeleseries siberia v2 are really good gaming headset, It is comfy to wear and has decent sound. If you love music you might want to get something else.

How do you guys connect the separate mic to the headset. My zalman mic has a clip but it's not tight enough to clip onto the cords of my sennheisser 250s. Any ideas? Right now it's held on by a rubberband but it's getting dry.

The razer banshee has a detachable mic, although im not sure i would recommend it, despite the awesome colours. Do you not wear shirts? You could also just use tape or bind it with rope of some sort the possibilities are endless =p

I'm using my earbuds for my laptop cause my headset broke. Problem is, I get this weird ringing sound. It stops at intervals, like a background beeping sound. It happens when my computer is muted, but when I unplug the headphones and use them in my mp3 player, I dont hear it.

What is happening?

Was your broken headset usb? Laptops have horrible soundcards so it can pick up noise from HDD, psu etc..

Does anyone here uses Microphones with good noise cancellation ? The reason i ask is because my computer which is a powerful beast makes quite some noise since its like 1 feet to my right. And i need a good headset with a very good microphone that will isolate my voice from the noise.. i went for cheaper senheissers and logitechs but none of them worked .. I even bought a BlueSnowball mic but that even didn't cancel my computer noise. I am prepared to pay big bucks for it. (200 max).
Does anyone know what headsets are being used by the IPL 3 casters? Those sound really awesome. Thanks in advance <3

*edit. The reason behind it is i need it for production purposes like casting,tutorials etc. for a large audience.
