They are NOT that much money Looking at amazon now they are reduced to $80, but if thats over your budget try getting HD202's and a cheap mic with them since they are currently $35

If you are really tight on budget then obviously you do not have as many options, however, going the "cheaper" route isnt always cheaper in the long run.

if your headset is ruined after a year and you have to spend more money on a second headset then you may have been better off spending a little extra money for higher quality headset.

on the flip side if you buy an expensive headset and you run over the chord with your chair then you wont be a happy camper either :D

They are indeed a great value and cheaper than the one he was referring to that he has. I got mine on sale after a friend recommended them to me, and it goes on sale often. Also, you can mod them yourself to be the exact same quality as a HD595. Which is closer to a $350 retail. You just have to open up the earcups and take out 2 peices of some sort of foam. You can find someone doing this on youtube.

After my SteelSeries 5Hv2's broke, (the left earcup snapped off after ~1 year of hardcore use), I decided to get the recently released Sennheiser PC360's. It has now been a few months since my purchase and all I can say is that these things blow anything I have ever used out of the water. If you are willing to spend the money I would definitely recommend Sennheiser.

I'm in love with my HD555s, they're just brilliant. I use them for all kinds of things from music to gaming and they sound perfect, just have to buy either a clip-on or desktop mic to finish it off. I wouldn't recommend anything from Razer, besides mice and their Blackwidow keyboard. Pretty much Steelseries and Sennheiser are where you'll want go, but I hate the Steelseries Siberia neckband, it falls off your ears quite easily if you have incorrectly sized ears.

I'd get those HD555s from amazon since they're half off, but that would necessitate buying another microphone, when the main reason I need a headset is to be able to talk and I don't want to drop another 25 bucks on a mic.

I'm really happy with the Sennheiser PC350 that I got. The thing is, most people get used to the way a certain headphone sounds so they think the old one that they had sounded best. But objectively, the PC350 is pretty damn good. The only thing I don't like about them is that the mic is not detachable so you can't them as normal headphones if you don't want to look nerdy.

Stay away from Plantronics' Gamescom Headsets. They've got a design defect that causes the headband to snap.

Hey guys, so I've been wanting a new headset for a while now, and I was wondering which one I should get. My budget is ~100 bucks, and I want something that I could wear out to listen to music or just wear at home when I want to do some gaming.

I was looking at the SteelSeries Siberia v2 since it has a hide-able mic, which would be great since there won't be a mic hanging around when I'm listening to music, but I hear that it also leaks sound. Anyone know if the leak is really bad or not? I don't really want to annoy people with my music.

Of course, other reccomendations would be good too.

Since you mentioned it, that headset just went on sale at NCIX for anyone who is interested in them. SennPC350@ NCIX I would still personally go with something else.

i use steelseries siberia v2 and they are really cool and light, using em with sb xtremegamer soundcard and the sound quality is really good.

Steelseries siberia V2 is an extremely cost effective mic for sound quality,mic quality,comfort and lightness at around 110$ Canadian/US dollar, I've never felt like actually paying the 100$+ for the 220$ price range mics like 350 and the a40s was worth it.

I know this doesn't really matter, but I also feel like the siberia in terms of looks surpasses any of the mics out there atm
