And I don't see why this would worry any of you here. Clearly since TL.net is the only fansite on the planet you have the only chances of getting keys. :D Who could possibly not like drooling over Korean pros all day? Anyway, thanks to those of you who participated. Jon SC2Forums.org Admin

Jon SC2Forums.org Admin I know this is uncalled for, but coming here and calling here every "idiots", and making remarks "drooling over koreans pro's all day", is pretty inmature of you, and you're just making your website look even worse by doing these kind of actions. Want me to translate that for you?... Get some manners, and stfu.

Doesn't bode well for the admin of a site that has 1% the traffic of TL to insult the largest StarCraft site on the internet.

Only my last two sentences were sarcastic. I simply despise the suggestion that any opinion outside of this fansite doesn't matter. I tire of the daily rage against the masses and the condescension about the game's development that comes from posts here. I refuse to engage in any kind of name calling, and I certainly respect the opinions of some of you, but I think it's time that someone else showed that there are other users out there that exist outside of TL's pro-gaming box, and hold different opinions. If that offends you, and that causes you to be "angry" at me, or my fansite, then I apologize. But perhaps you should open your view a bit and realize that there are other communities for StarCraft that do matter, including StarCraft.org and SCLegacy, and we certainly make up more than "1%" of TL's user base. There is nothing even close to TeamLiquid in terms of quality for StarCraft. I will just say that because of your comments, I personally will never visit your website.

I don't expect you to visit my site. I speak for the opinion of my members, just as I would if I was representing TL. As far as I've seen there is no overlap. TL members tend to be heavily SC oriented and, meanwhile, my site is heavily SC2 oriented. You can keep the old school, I'll take the new book, thanks. And if logical thought is enough to keep you away from my site, so be it. @ Skyze Thanks for the backup?

You've spent a lot of time developing your website and a lot of energy and it's all for StarCraft2, so for that I have a lot of respect for you right away. However, that does not at all take away from your pompous attitude displayed especially with those 2 direct insults to the entire TL forum community. You talk as if TeamLiquid is stoneage SC1... well when there is actually some SC2 news we will see then. I am just expressing the disappointment that you ruined your hard working website in my eyes (and others probably) by throwing in some stupid insults where they weren't needed.

Not trying to start a war here or anything, but what exactly do you aim to achieve with your site? Your site is called StarCraft2Forum.org, so from what any outsider would see is that it is just another forum site for StarCraft II fans. There are dozens of sites on the internet, so what will separate SC2F.org from the rest of the pack? TL will keep the old school and take waves upon waves of new students over SC2F.org because of it's sheer almighty presence in the general StarCraft community. There are tens of thousands more people that frequent TL and you can bet that at least 2/3rds of those numbers will play SC2 eventually and they'll tell their friends to visit TL also. SC2F will get a few new people, sure. But how are you going to keep the new people coming in after the initial launch of SC2? And how are you going to keep your current members active? Obviously we all know that the internet is an unpredictable/uncontrollable beast in it's own, but what is common knowledge is that if you can't secure your spot in the race ahaed of time you won't be able to catch up unless you fight back ten-fold. And the leaders of the race more often than not hold a monopoly (ie. Digg, Twitter). I'm assuming you are going to provide the usual, like a map/mod/replay database. There is already a well-established communities for that Staredit.net. As I said before, the name of your site is rather detrimental to it. It lacks flare or uniqueness. No one will quickly associate at the very least as a map/mod/replay site. I think the best move, since from what I quickly deducted that SC2F and ORGnetwork are affiliated closely, is to combine to them. TL is more than just a forum, it is the best source of original StarCraft articles and the latest in professional/competitive gaming news. Again, not trying to start a war. Just offering my point of view and critique on SC2F thus far. Hopefully it will help you assess your goals with SC2F further. If you don't come up with something by the time SC2 launches to attract long-lasting members, then SC2F will just be left behind.

If you don't come up with something by the time SC2 launches to attract long-lasting members, then SC2F will just be left behind. Not to speak for him, but I've been looking at his site. It seems like a nice and comfortable environment for casual players to discuss SC2, and it will more than likely stay that way. As long as the admins there enjoy running the website and being a part of their community, I don't see why anyone should have to worry about what 'unique special thing' they will bring to become a top site. But to Jon, I would have to say that it isn't very accurate to say the TL is focused on the old school game while SC2F is looking at the new game. It's more like TL is focused on both SC and SC2; SC just gets more attention here because, well, it's actually a completed game that people can play atm. When SC2 is released, I am sure it will get more discussion here, and if/when it develops its pro-scene, TL will probably continue to be the number one site for pro-scene coverage.

I wasn't necessarily insinuating that his goal was to make SC2F profitable or a top site. There is nothing wrong with running a website as a hobby and to converse with people that share your interests, but you can't disagree that without something to get new blood flowing inwards your community will just become stale and stagnant; additionally, the current blood will slowly leave out of boredom. I guess I assumed that Jon wanted to expand SC2F further than what it is now.

And if you want people here to stop expressing opinions that imply that TL is the only starcraft fansite worth the name, then make them do that by producing a better site. Don't come here and whine about it.
