And for your last point: Are the winners of ESWC 2011/12 world champions? Those were World Cups, even giving out more prizemoney than the first IEM WC...but with a player-field of 50% players nobody ever heard of... Again, everyone can call their tournament whatever they like. WESG could also be a contender for that in fact. So I personally prefer to just stick to the one tournament that is definetly the one with the highest prestige. | ||

Fair enough I just think it's a bit weird / arbitrary to only call the world championships that are the result of a year-long circuit 'real' world championships. In fact I would argue the IEM qualifier format leads to a more fierce player pool because that makes sure only the most in-form players qualify and not players who were strong in the beginning of the year and then declined but still made it in on points. Also in many real sports world championships just have a normal qualifier, so it's not like that's a defining feature of a world championship. | ||

If GSL continues. Considering the ESL contract ends this year I wouldn't be so sure about that. Artosis leaving korea is also not a good sign although it oficially has nothing to do with that. | ||

It's also not a guarantee that hero makes it into the ro4. For all the other players still in it, maru's a massive favorite as they are either terrans or DRG/Ragnarok. | ||
