2020 : 2019 : 2018 : Prize pool extending until the 60th place, but this is still top heavy. 2019 was pretty much the same thing, bar no WCS points for the 45-60th places, ditto in 2018. So I don't think any fairer prize split will happen anytime soon if events stay offline.

I was just reacting to the post like, is it even useful to post that given it won't change. But at least, your post makes me a bit more optimistic about it.

Granted I think the wider issue of sustainability, I.e. a decent pro making enough to keep playing full time and keeping a stable scene that new blood can better isn’t super affected by Katowice’s split. It certainly doesn’t do harm to have a less too heavy pool but it alone doesn’t fix wider year-long issues. The ESL Cups are a great earner/blooding ground, WCS serves the foreign scene very well, by and large as far as I can tell. GSL and especially ST don’t have huge pools trickling down especially given how stacked and talented that region is.

Realy would like to see the prize distribution way flater than it is now. I don t care one bit, how many people get crazy rich from this, it s about how many player can make a living wage. I get that the first point is important to atract players to your game. But imo we are way past that point, now it s most important, that we can keep as many players as possible for as long as possible in the scene. Thats only going to happen with less top heavy price distributuions.
