What a twat. How is European food terrible? You could say you're not used to it, but it's far from terrible. Even though I don't want to summarise European food, does no one eat spaghetti, pizza, baguettes, etc? Come on.
European food can be rated as terrible by Chinese, Japanese and Korean. No doubt about it. The best comment you can get is "acceptable", considering the limited cocking style / technique and the constrained variety of meat / vegetables / ingredients.
I can concede that European food may be more nutritious and healthy to some extent, especially the treatment of vegetables as salad. But more delicious than food from east Asia? No way.

Dude, he was in germany... one of the worst place for food on earth. Would have been different if he had been in Italy, Greece of France...
I wouldn't say Germany is terrible for food :D
Compared to UK or somewhere in north Europe...may be not...:D

C'mon, I do enjoy Korean or Japanese food and I can see how one can rate it higher than French or Italian, though by no means I can see anyone saying that such food is just "acceptable". And Chinese food is pretty damn underwhelming compared to Italian, French, Greek. Or even German/Austrian.

This patronising.
I do not think myself gourmet, but Chinese cusine underwhelms that of European? What a taste.
I'd say, to each their own, so just respect other's.
As a Vietnamese myself, I think that our Asian food has more variety in terms of flavor, smell, seasoning, taste, etc and it's way richer than European food, living here for almost 2 years. My opinion, however, just might be biased to it should be taken as a grant of salt, because what kind of food he like or doesn't like literally don't affect any of us

Chinese food is in no way underwhelming. Though, at the root of it taste is all subjective so what does it matter what one guy has said about what he likes
When he says the food in Europe is "obviously" bad, there's like an implicit understanding that Korean progamers generally have trouble eating local cuisine. Even outside StarCraft, Korean pros travel with a lot of food that would be considered "junk" in Korea, just because they have a very hard time eating food from other cultures.
There is a wide variety of Chinese cuisines that are very different from each other, one can not just say "Chinese food". Personally I have had some that was very weak and bland and other completely different stuff that was amazing.
Also keep in mind that Koreans are more obsessed about their national cuisine than any other country is.
Well, he's not talking about cultural superiority or comparing cuisines or anything like that. It's just that when you're jetlagged, sometimes all you want is familiar comfort food.

Sorry about forgetting French food, which is rated one of the best in the world.
I might be biased when I commented. Since I have been living in Germany for nearly a decade and really desperate to find anything near "delicious", the impression of European food is vastly degraded....
What I want to say is that I can totally understand why the European food (ok. let's change it into German food) is rated terrible by Stats. He just spoke about his feeling, the same as most of the guys from far-east, no more no less.

Not only programmers, I think it is a general issue. The world is immense. Getting used to the local food needs quite sometime, if your local food is in totally different category to where you visit.
Europeans may have less trouble in eating when they travel, since the whole American is at least partially influenced by Europeans due to immigrants in the past. For Oceania, the same story. They would always find something similar in taste. But visiting Asian is different. I have heard my German colleagues were crying for hard bread and never felt comfortable during their trip to Bali.
Versa vice, to adjust to the European taste for Asian is as difficult.

You are so right ! I get used really easily to any kind of cuisine, and sometimes love it. But everytime i travel for more than few days i come to really miss a good slice of bread (and cheese). That becomes really hard tu handle after one good week :D
perhaps he said that the Taketv crew is just beeing bad at cooking not european food overall. And from korean adds you could get the image the main food is chicken wings so you should be able to find something similiar
