Regardless of the situation, we will still action upon "dead game" comments. As this is a sensitive issue for SC2 fans, please do not come into this thread and talk about SC2 players switching over to BW. This thread is also not about bashing Blizzard, David Kim, or the WCS system.

proleague was the last sc2 league I watched. and I stopped watching it like 2 years ago.

time to move on, maybe in the next 5 years another RTS is released.

Expect lots of Korean pros in the Chinese team league in the next couple months.

I wouldn't. I can't imagine too many Koreans want to live in China. I'd rather expect them to switch to other esports games.

It is online, only the playoffs are offline.

From my perspective, I would even say the future of Korean Starcraft scene relies on China, we have plenty of SC2 events coming up and even more money being put into it.

Let's hope you are right.
Although I feel that even Chinese scene is healthy overall, the growth in Chinese SC2 viewership is reaching stationary and it would probably prove difficult to support too many Korean players while we are hoping to support local talents at the same time.

Now we can also finally see how shit was the lack of any global events in WCS2016, because the "the top Koreans vs. the finally improved foreigners" has not happened and now it will never happen, because every foreign win can be now attributed to the fallout from the dissolution of the KeSPA teams. In hindsight, 2016 was the last chance and they blew it.

As if Global events would have saved SC2 in Korea.

They would have made Blizzard look better.

And as the Sun goes down, the endless Darkness comes.
The Eternal Winter.
The Cold. The Fear. The Screams.
But this is not the End my child!
Death is not the End because this is my Dream!
I am not a King nor a Lord,
Not a man or creature.
I am the Wind, the Earth, the Water and the Fire!
But this is not the End.
This is the Beginning
The beginning of your Dreams!

Let us hope this is also the beginning of something new. Because one can only hope.

To be honest, I've lost interest in the SC2 pro scene since last year already despite having been a supporter since 2010. With the rules set for 2016 I thought it was a matter of time, and it turns out it really was.

I'm happy to have been part of the community, watching the rise of SlayerS, the dominance of IM, the Kespa vs eSF wars, Taeja summers, HerO winters, the silliness of Dreamhack music and other nostalgic good memories, but there's also been a lot of instances where I wasn't proud to be part of the community.

It was good while it lasted, but I think it's time to move on. GG guys.
Will always cheer for: MMA Bomber Taeja Curious Life herO Zest

Uncertain times now I feel. Can't help but feeling sad as Pro League has been excellent for so many years and produced so many great memories for us all.

Well

It really sucks. It sucks sooooooooooooooooooo much.

But in the end, what will decide whether I still watch SC2 next year will be the players. I hope they'll have something to play in next year. I hope some of my favorites stick around for a bit longer.

Well, i cant say im surprised after what blizzard did to the korean starcraft but im also very disappointed especially at huge teams like KT and SKT for not trying to keep going on their own like jin air.

Blizzard aways manages to make the best games ever and then fuck them up, wow/diablo game wise and now even tho is the best starcraft 2 we ever had their management of the pro scene especially in korea is 1/10.

IF they dont take action( im sure they knew about all that long before us and didnt try to fix it) very soon, starcraft will be nothing more then a nice game that no one plays. Which was the case with broodwar very limited number of people played it but with insanely strong and huge korean broodwar scene back in the day was the best thing ever. Now without the koreans to push the game forward i dont see starcraft being anything but at the level of wow pvp arena tournament or whatever is called.

Probably the saddest day in starcraft history.

As an aside, I am majorly disappointed that MVP of all teams disbands. They were around long before Proleague, sucks they die along side it.

Probably one of the saddest news I've read in a while...

Farewell, Proleague.

And all these teams...
