Nothing announced by Deepmind about SC2 for several months now. I guess it is just the Co-op AI since the talk is only 1 hour long, but the possibility is there ofc.

Well there isn't an expansion about to come out, so it's not going to be as focused as last year... The Blizzcon 2015 intro was really great though + Show Spoiler +

There doesn't seem to be room in the schedule for any secret panels dedicated to then. They would at most be snuck into existing panels, but even then I don't think that would do them justice. i guess if it turns out they are in fact happening, then they can't be very far into development, so there's nothing to really discuss or reveal except the announcement itself, which would be in the opening ceremony only...

Another thing to keep is mind is, there are actually 2 SC2 exhibitions - one on Friday night, 2.75 hours long, and one on Saturday morning, 1.25 hours long. Maybe a mini-tournament? Or 2 entirely separate things?

their view seems to be... make people pay for competitive gaming experiences so that if they hack and get caught it costs them money to rejoin the party. therefore , i don't see SC2 going F2P.

The second best time is now. All they have to do is make multiplayer free and charge for co op/campaign. ez.
