Out of curiosity, how many years those koreans have to chose when they`ll do the military? Seems pretty easy, to an extent, to postpone it until you fell like you should. | ||

If you are at certain age and have not done a military service yet, you are not allowed to travel outside of the country. This is because South Korea is still at war with North Korea (literally since only cease fire agreement was made at the end of the Korean War) so men have to undergo a conscription before they are too old to serve as soldiers. Some people tried to escape the conscription process by travelling to other countries when they are near the age limit so the government put an age limit on that. | ||
