The irony. Last week i posted about my findings about a match fixing scandal in pro league and the TL moderators decided to close that thread:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/476033-pinnacle-voids-dark-vs-san-bets-due-to-match-manipulation-concerns?page=52#1034

The only difference is that this time pinnacle decided to void the bets. The line movement was nearly as ridiculous far off:

Line movements from last weeks match yoda bunny:
yoda ~1,7 (58,8%) to 3 (33,3%) ---25,5% difference

Marineking Byul:
byul ~1,6(62,5%) to 1,09 (91,7%) --- 29,2% difference

I just want no stupid matchfixing apologists to come out of this like they came out in the Lance Armstrong threads. Reading that shit is carcinogenic.

Aeromi did. He posted this on aAa :

J'ai regardé le replay. Il voit le premier point rouge a 3 minutes 59, il scoute rien. A 5 minutes 40 il a du creep dans sa main il check toujours pas. C'est que à 5 minutes 46 qu'il vient checker les rochers.

What happened?

This did. Or rather, it didn't. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/481120-speculation-yoe-flash-wolves-dropped-by-main-sponsor

If anyone ought to know what's happening in Taiwanese Starcraft, it's Breaker. But like everyone else, he can be wrong.

EDIT: I just remembered, Breaker is even affiliated with the Yoe Flash Wolves, either currently or fairly recently. So yes, even expertise isn't infallibility.

If rekrul says it, assume it's true.

Breaker has done that stuff before, so I'm not surprised he would lead jump the gun before confirming everything.

Rekrul has a much better track record, but then again.. I seem to recall him distorting and later retracting some team disbanding drama during WoL too (I want to say TSL, not sure though).

However, in hindsight it seems obvious that something must be going on right?

Solar was confirmed to have been offered money almost a *year* ago. KeSPA even confirmed that he wasn't the only one being offered money to throw games, then they didn't say anything else.

Olimey posted a list of tournaments that gamblers were using to rig bets (but not the matches themselves). Mal responded since he was one of the tournaments named and said he had even received training to avoid getting exploited and he still fell victim! Again KeSPA admits the issue and doesn't really do anything.

Now we have several lines on Pinnacle voided (this is the third time?) and we already know form the savi0r thing there are illegal gambling rings in Korea so it's starting to look more like the gamblers are branching out to Pinnacle rather than this being the start of the 'match irregularities'.

I would say this is obvious fixing if MarineKing didn't play so... forgetfully sometimes.

Edit: Needless to say, I think this is still very very bad. Not only because, yeah, match fixing seems to be a thing nowadays, but because it involves a player I've followed and cheered for...

Heh that game was funny. Most likely it's the coach that forced the players to lose (like in bw) so maybe marineking lost that obviously on purpose. I hope so at least.

I have answered that point over 10 times i think.
There are several possible explanations for that. One other strange incident certainly doesn't prove that the bunny yoda match was not fixed. Your argument would only hold if it was common that there are a lot of those strange line movements which isn't the case.

Knowing there is match fixing in the scene does not imply this match is match fixed.

This is exactly what I mean by 'you're seeing what you want to see'. You and others were ready to jump on the match and proclaim match fixing, but then whoops, it went the wrong way, nevermind, let's just explain it away.

If he lost that on purpose, he's a damn good actor, rarely have I seen a person look as confused and baffled as MarineKing did when queens, lings and spinecrawlers entered his main through the back.

What? I thought he underreacted if anything. If you know MarineKing and realize how much of a blunder his play was, you would expect a much greater intensity in his reaction...

I kinda think it looks fake and exaggerated, doesn't matter either way though

Really? He looks about as baffled as a progamer can allow themself to look in a match they could still win.

Yeah my bad, he did react, I rewatched the video in fullscreen, it was kinda hard to see on a small window. This probably could be faked though, I guess, it's not like you need an Academy Award for that.

If Byul would have just rolled over him in a standard macro game all we would have had would be the adjusted betting lines to go with to form our opinions on the matter. Thank you Byul.

Just a question though. If I wanted to destroy the pro-scene, all I would need is a couple of 10,000 dollars, and place a few big bets on some games which I'm pretty sure will be one-sided?
I mean, the fact that MK usually loses in horrible ways was just a nice bonus here.

Not sure if you saw Rekrul's post a few pages ago:

On March 25 2015 08:08 Rekrul wrote:
facts:

1. illegal sports betting in korea is much bigger than it was during the BW scandal so there is more $ to be earned from throwing matches, pinnacle is just a small piece of the pie

2. everyone in the korean sc2 scene already knows that fixing is rampant in proleague especially among players who don't make much money and aren't good enough to dominate individual leagues (where it definitely happens sometimes as well)

3. sc2 is already suffering in korea as is, them investigating or going public trying to stop it is not only futile with the given industry dynamics, but would also likely destroy sc2 in korea

The reaction looked like a poor act to me, but hey, I only noticed it after I had read this thread, so there is some bias now.

Also, if what Rekrul is saying is that people are CURRENTLY, fixing and throwing matches in PL on a major ("rampant") scale, then wtf are we (as viewers and a community) still doing. Like, honestly, how could anyone ever watch PL and even give a shit with that information? I do hope that was an extreme exaggeration, because that'd be really disappointing. Like, I can tolerate a few throws here and there, whatever, shit is hard to avoid, but if tons of players are doing it...?

Why is it you (Rekrul) are only just now posting this information regarding match fixing? It's not that I think you're untrustworthy or whatever, it's just... How could you not say something about it sooner if you had this kind of insider info?
