To topic: absolutely idiotic decision, which is however just another face of "hrrr, this is e-sports, this is PROFESSIONAL, nothing is tolerated!" that most of the TL wants, so I don't know why are you guys complaining about.

How on earth is this professional? It's about as unprofessional as it gets.

But, well, KR fans at the studio deserve an apology. Blame yourself, ST. How in hell is this ST fault? There was a car accident god dammit! Well, ST did apologize, so I don't want to be harsh. But that's their responsibility to have a B plan, like maybe ... start 1 hour earlier. It's Asian traffic, after all. The thing is JAGW was still there to claim the bye. They did not arrive late. A car accident normally doesn't affect everyone. Maybe JAGW didn't have to drive through that tunnel that was blocked? And ofc ST did apologize and accepted the def-loss. What else should they do? I just think basically EVERY organisatio in every field accepts a traffic accident as an excuse - beside Kespa. And kespa accepts delays as well - as long as it affects a kespa-team. That's the main issue here, imo . There's sceduling to take into account. In the end, it is STs responsibility to be on time. If for whatever reason they can't and are greatly delayed (whatever time they usually take as margin plus half an hour), well, it's sad, but you can't blame JAGW or Kespa for that. In fact, nobody does but some angry fans. You could blame KeSPA for not being lenient enough. Although we don't know exactly how long it would take ST-Yoe to get to the arena. Because KeSPA is always so vague/ not transparent.

Oops, missed the answer. But well, it's not professional at all. Blindly following stupid rules, or even worse here creating stupid rules on the fly, is the complete definition of unprofessionalism.

What?
Have you ever read anything on this forum? There is a horde of people who demand "professionalism" from everybody involved and their idea of that is that there are strict rules that are followed, big money and corporate sponsors are pleased the first, production value is the holy grail, everyone behaves like a human robot without personality, says only politically correct phrases, never chats in-game, writes gg at the end and says that he will practice harder and provide good games in the post-game interview. According to this worldview, being late for a match is a mortal sin.

lol this is so true.
Granted it was "unprofessional" from ST to be stuck in a traffic jam (lol), it was even more unprofessional from kespa to do what they did. completely stupid decision to not delay the games because of something ST could have done absolutely nothing about.

JAGW avenge their round robin defeat!

I kinda read the exact opposite. Everyone is sick and tired of these shitty kespa rules and the standard interviews korean players give after every match . There have to be rules, no doubt, but too strict rules are ridiculous - in E -Sports as well as in other sports.

legionnaire was dq'ed because he was stuck in traffic before a televised mbc match against yooi. nothing new to see here.

Kespa is the stupidest organisation in the history of e-sports. Entertainment is made for the fans. That's how you make money. This is ridiculous. Stupid fucking kespa. They seriously couldn't wait for the team to get to the studio? I bet the Jin Air staff would have waited. That would have been the act of sportsmanship. Ask Jin Air if they're willing to wait. If they could 've waited, so would the fans.

I am not saying there aren't reasonable people here, but I don't believe this is the impression a random walker-by would get from TL. Just wait until some player does something "unprofessional" again and watch the ensuing shitstorm. Nani is back, it shouldn't take long

so, its OK for Maru to be late but ST or Creator areDQed.. fing Kespa... in what reality do these live in

Guys it's a TV broadcast, it's pretty reasonable in the adult world to expect people to arrive within a certain time frame. Sorry if that rustles anyone's jimmies, I wanted to see the match too, but this is pretty sensible.
Can't set a precedent where it's okay to be late, even if it's your favorite Tawainese/Korean hybrid team led by Bomber himself.

Oh wow. So ST was on their way but got stuck. In that case, a DQ over a delay doesn't make sense to me.

This isn't like they got drunk and passed out on the subway. It was an accident. An exceptional event.
