No. But there will be even worse (I mean stronger opponents) in that IEM.

Half-dead wrists - Check Zest looking for revenge - Check 0-2'ed by Action in the last stacked tournament - Check Yeah, move along. It's quite a bummer to those Koreans who participated at the qualifiers, but didn't make the cut. Since it's fan favourites getting the wild cards, I suppose I see the commercial reasoning. TaeJa won IEM Shenzhen so we invited him to defend his "title". sOs was sent by KeSPA as Proleague Round 4 MVP HyuN was #1 on WCS ranking MC was #2 on WCS ranking Inviting based on WCS ranking is such crap. I can't stand it. It's a self fulfilling thing; MC and Hyun get lots of points because they get invited to everything and they get invited to everything because they have a lot of points. Both Hyun and MC have both gotten almost enough points from the WCS circuit alone to qualify for Blizzcon. Even with no invites at all they would be at Blizzcon. I'd like to see them prove it then. A tournament should not give WCS points if there are any invites at all. WCS points should be the sole province of WCS itself and fully open tournaments, no invites or regional qualifiers. Korea should have double or triple the amount of points, and money, compared to other regions, a GSL Ro8 is easily as hard or harder than winning a mostly foreigner Lan. Then, we can put a hard region lock in place because Korea will actually be worthwhile for Koreans. Boom, everybody wins, we get the best players at blizzcon, no one gets any freebies from invites, and the local NA and EU players actually have something realistic to play for. If I know my Korean organizers and I think I do My bet is they take that extra money and put it all in first place -_- Add provisions, have hard rules for how points and money are awarded. These things can be regulated.

Are we really worried about Kespa dumping Sc2 if blizz gave them more points and money, but with certain provisions? That strikes me as a very dubious proposition. It's worth exploring at least.

This revenge series will probably give us a good idea of how right or wrong this impression is.
