Group A is the group of death lol... Taeja Polt and Zest... those three alone could make a tournament...

One of the most stacked if not the most stacked tournament of recent memory. Kudos IEM, really excited for this one.

That seems... highly unlikely. He won't lose to Scarlett and how many foreigners are getting out of the first group stage?

mmm idk. Scarlett can be freakishly good when she's on her game and it wouldn't be surprising if Flash can't replicate his scary current form into a foreign tournament. It's happened before after all.

With the way Scarlett's ZvT has fallen off since the patch... maybe but I'm not holding by breath. She can beat MC though and almost anyone to come out of the open bracket if she's on her A game.

The way her ZvT has fallen off? There really is not much of a sample. She also has a tendency to perform much better offline :D. I am not saying she WILL beat Flash, but she definitely has a shot. Pre Patch, I would say they were even, Post patch I would give Flash a slight advantage o.o

Slight advantage?! I'm a HUGE Scarlett fan but dude she's gonna get rekt no question about it. If she can't beat Heart, Bunny or Masa you think Scarlett has a chance against FUCKING FLASH?!

How were the wild cards chosen? It just seems strange, almost unfair, that Zest and Flash has to fight through some gruelling dual qualifiers at the Asian level (they should have more representation, i feel), and the wild cards get a 'free ticket' straight into the group play (I would understand if they simply got into the open brackets). It's quite a bummer to those Koreans who participated at the qualifiers, but didn't make the cut.

Since it's fan favourites getting the wild cards, I suppose I see the commercial reasoning.

TaeJa won IEM Shenzhen so we invited him to defend his "title".
sOs was sent by KeSPA as Proleague Round 4 MVP
HyuN was #1 on WCS ranking
MC was #2 on WCS ranking

Inviting based on WCS ranking is such crap. I can't stand it. It's a self fulfilling thing; MC and Hyun get lots of points because they get invited to everything and they get invited to everything because they have a lot of points.

and are dependable. and put on good showings. and bring some fun to the tourney. Face it there are few tournaments that aren't going to invite two of the most popular players who tournament organisers can fall back on if any of the special guests they have in mind refuse the invite. The reputation for being travelers is almost as good for them for getting invites as there wcs seeding and popularity.

Not to mention that they both are monstrously good players.

invited players don't earn any WCS points if they don't at least advance 1 round
