Still 7 + there is always possibility of Startale or even foreign team. Or even something like reincarnation of Team 8. I swear, we can build contender for top-4 just from Koreans in GSL without teams.
Even if there are 7 teams, LoL-Masters had 7 and it was ok. + It's just July right now, not December.
I wonder where Mvp and Trap end up. I can see Mvp retiring - which would the end of an even more significant era, and a true loss to the scene - but I think Trap will stay in Korea, and possibly join another Kespa team. I like him and would want him to join KT, but I'm not sure if they're interested in another Protoss (would instead want a decent Zerg. Life, anyone?).
Best of luck to all ex-IM players in finding what they're looking for.

PL is still alive, the scene is not dying
Do we know anything about PL's status? Seems like they're running out of teams.
PL has confirmed at least one more season
Not trying to doomsay here but the STX coach/head guy also announced that STX was not disbanding live on stage when STX won PL. We can't really take a forum post as complete confirmation. All signs point to proleague continuing in some form though.
Also, kespa before confirmed that LoL world finals would be in korea and then we find out it's split b/w 3 countries and that forced the kespa president to write a long apology letter. Nothing is ever set in stone.

I sounds like more time for teams to be dismantled and players to retire to me. Because aren't most Korean eSports contracts up sometime between the end of proleague and next proleague? I really hope the new Korean weekly will help things over there.

Honestly with what's left of IM and ST combined they'd do very poorly in Pro League I imagine. Don't see it happening.
No, it'd probably be about the same as this past season. ByuL is already one of the best in the league and he'd be supported by Hack, Life, Curious, and Yonghwa who could all improve.
Besides Life those guys are pretty mediocre these days, and Life is never a team league player.
Pretty much what I was thinking. Without ByuL that team would almost certainly be dead last. Probably even with him.
Pretty unlikely ST would want to enter PL anyway, or else surely they would have done so this season when they had more players?
Startale was legally unable to join kespa due to their being an eSF team when it still existed. You can't join kespa during the middle of a season, thats why they partnered with IM.
