Maybe if Jaedong didn't flee all relevant Korean leagues this challenge might have some merit. As it stands, all of Korea has an outstanding challenge against Jaedong to try and compete in national leagues. And I say this not as a Flash fanboy or Jaedong hater, but as a disappointed Jaedong fan.

JD is getting closer and closer to 30 with no education
People need to realise their role models need to think about their future. With 30 JD has to live at least 40+ more years with the money he has earned up to then.

Any disappointed fan of a player is not a real fan at all.

My fandom is not unconditional. Also, if it's really as bad as you describe then the best for JD would be to simply not start this lame posturing in the first place.

Lol, you have KT as your team tag, I am sure no bias there, right? Maybe if Flash actually got close to blizzcon...

lol, so it is JD fault for Flash taking the 'safe' route by getting good salary from KT while not being sent to foreign events and doing poorly in KR individual leagues?

If Flash had 'balls', he would demand that KT send him to foreign events.

Last time I checked, going to AM and getting a good salary from EG while not being sent to Korean tournaments is the safe route, I really don't understand what you are talking about. Are you trying to say that Foreign events are harder than GSL?

Sounds like JD just realized something that we've all known for a long time. It's hard for Flash to do much though when the state of terran is not so great... Maybe they could face off in a game of Starbow?

However, this article makes me happy!

Flash's slump has less to do with the state of Terran (although I'm not denying that it has nothing to do with it) and more to do with the fact that even as compared to other Terrans, Flash is really struggling right now

He's trying to find his identity I think, Flash is really stubborn some times and will play one strategy forever even if he gets hard countered by other playstyles or if it doesn't suit him.

So basically you are saying he is bad unless the meta suits him...

Shame on players trying to establish their own play style right, Flash is so bad trying to get Mech to work for him in TvZ.

MKP had his own play style as well as Inca. It is great that players have their own style, but when it doesn't work, they need to be flexible enough to adapt. LoL players are rated based on their champion pools, sc2 player should be rated based on their builds and styles they can play. So yes, if you cannot play other styles, you are not a top pro. It is great to have a signature style, but that doesn't mean you exclusive play that strategy, because unlike BW, you can be expose if you only play a certain style in SC2.

Fanboyism aside, there is no debate as to JD having the safer route...

Well, that depends on the salary of KT vs EG, doesn't it. If Flash get significant more without having to do well in foreign events, he is taking the 'safer' route financially.

Knowing the competitor JD is, I'm pretty sure he would like to play in GSL and proleague. it's more than likely that's he's obligated to play in AM and more foreign tournaments because he's on EG, as is taeja, hero, POLT, Hyun, stardust, and anyone that's a big name figure on a foreign team

So basically you are PL fan that feels PL is the be all and end all like it was in BW... Sorry to burst your bubble. PL is still a premier tournament but its importance is a lot lower than it was in BW. The Korean fan base is either in LoL or back to BW. The foreign fan base has events like IEM, ASUS, DH, etc.

Well, in 2013, it didn't really matter since the top players got to compete with each other in the season finals and Blizzcon 4 times a year anyways. In 2014, we only have Blizzcon.

Proleague, GSL and maybe Blizzcon/season finals are the be all end all of SC2. Everything else is fluff. JD participates in one of those, and mostly because he dodges GSL to get there.

PL is still the most meaningful league in e-sports . Without it Kespa team's sponsors wouldn't have anything to throw their money at and there would be no teams . With no sponsors don't expect GSTL/GSL/WCS to nourish 100+ korean progamers.

LOL the fact that's put JD and "dodge" in the same context shows that you know absolutely nothing about JD ....

So untrue.

I believe his point was that Flash is just finding what suits him best as in, in BW, he would go 14cc and get countered everytime until he eventually got it to work so maybe he's trying to do something similar in SCII although I dunno if that will work tbh.

It has absolutely nothing to do with 'knowing JD'. It's a fact. Doesn't matter if it's only to appease EG. It's still a dodge.
