Wait, why do we need a Hydra buff? Half gas cost Hydras? Maybe the reason ZvZ is all Roach wars is because Spore Crawlers are insanely overpowered against Muta now. If they weren't that strong, you'd see more Muta, and you'd see more Hydras. Sigh. How about they nerf the Swarm Host instead of this stupid Tempest buff?

euhr. My brain hurts when I read these proposed changes. Photon overcharge is useless nerf and a dumb ghost buff, which isnt the problem of mech. I am sure buffing the tempests instead of redesigning the viper/swarmhost. So they actually use a retarded unit to solve a problem of 2 other retarded units they designed for this expansion. I think I will stick to starbow until someone with a brain designs this game.
EDIT: Why dont they simply change the photon overcharge range? That would be a great change that would at least allow windows of opportunitys for zerg and terran to attack a protoss.

Short-sighted and one-dimentional, as usual. Blizzard needs to look at the big picture rather than coming up with a "solution" to an isolated challenge. I will just give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are just being lazy.
Despite that, I am looking forward to how different things will be with these changes. SC2 needs a change, even if it is one such as this.

Photon Overcharge nerf completely misses the mark as others have pointed out, there are other, way better ways to do it.
MSC needs a major design change, making it tether to a Nexus and channel PO would be way better, would force toss to be a lot more careful, prevent double PO on 2 different Nexus and also force toss to dedicate some resources to ensure that at least the MSC survives to channel for full duration. While at it they need to gut the vision to something really low. MSC shouldn't be a catch all unit, it shouldn't be a scout, army support and defensive tool rolled into one, two of those need to go, and I'd rather it be scouting and army support components, as in make the vision range 6 or 7.
Time warp is a small change that I'm not sure will have a huge enough impact, on the one hand if you ever needed to recall or PO you could only cast 1 TW anyway, this will only nerf that situation when you double time warp, and if the battle lasts long enough, you time warp again after 50 seconds. Still doesn't address the gist of the matter on how powerful it is because of duration and size.
Hydra buff is beyond words stupid, thankfully its probably only one of their dumb experiments and won't make it live (I hope I don't jinx this). Hydra is actually a pretty strong unit when massed, this will make it even more cost efficient and its just a bad idea to have this come out in bulks when zerg has larva mechanic.
Ghost change is kind of meh, a nice bonus but not really game changing, it won't actually help late game if toss can get there safely, because they already entered it with some sort of an advantage, either in tech, army or economy, or a bit of all, and this won't really help. + Mech needs tons of gas already for infrastructure and the core mech army, they can't afford ghosts.
Tempest change is just...
Overall I am not impressed.

sc2 is a balanced game and has been so most of its time, I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt before judging the changes
community has a certain tendency to cry about things before trying them out and playing in the new meta that will come from it

LOL the fucking hydra buff. Probably enough to put it in the top 5 best units in the game, huehuehue. For the rest I don't have much opinion, I don't know yet how that would play out.

I am interested to see how these work out. The ghost change makes ghost timings more awesome. The rest will be interesting. One solid emp to a mother ship core will ruin a greedy Protosses day.

They needed to nerf MSC vision. If the MSC was practically blind then it could still do its job of being a mobile town portal and a nexus overcharger, but could no longer be such an easy high ground vision machine. The time warp nerf is approaching the right idea because that time warp was ridiculous when combined with Forcefield + Collosus + Storm.

Hydra gas cost halfed is a massive change. I'd really like to see some pros test this change. Might either be completely bonkers or push PvZ to a more dynamic match up. Even hydra allins against T don't seem completely out of range with this, and we'll probably see less giant roach vs roach battles in ZvZ should this buff go through in any form.
I like that they backpedal on the PO change with a simultaneous time warp nerf - I'd like it even more, if they didn't nerf PO at all and further nerfed offensive MSC abilities, like a energy cost bump for recall too.
Tempest buff seems okish I guess, should really only have an impact on late, late PvZ
MSC offensive nerf plus a little more mid/late game power with the ghost buff should be plenty enough to push PvT back to balance I think.

100/100 upgrade for free? Almost meaningless, try adjusting the fact that terran cannot fight protoss head on after they have both storm and colossi tech.

it's ridiculous on a ramp with blink and the nerf doesn't change anything regarding that.

hmm so basically this test map is about buffed hydras and buffed tempests. The other suggestions are minimal and wont actually do anything.
