Who says the remaining NA players can't read the rulebook? They either decided to not sign up or they weren't able to get 200 wins or they didn't know it happened. And those are good reasons to delay the qualifier for them? Nope, I'm just trying to persuade people that lack of reading skill is not the root of the problem. Okay, a lot of people signed up who were not elligible, but there are idiots on every server and some people were obviously trying to push their luck, of which I cannot blame them. It should've been NASL's responsibility that only the valid signups end up in the bracket. sure the handbook wasn't available. And a clear lack of dedication for so called "pros" Wait, did the handbook contain information about the qualifier dates or have I been repeatedly trolled in the past few pages? It's way too late here in Europe, I think I need to catch up some sleep. bottom of page 7 http://media.blizzard.com/sc2/media/downloads/WCS-Player-Handbook.pdf This wording isnt even consistent with the WCS site. WTF Blizzard where are you looking? http://wcs.battle.net/sc2/en/articles/full-season-1-qualifier-dates-for-wcs-2014 WCS Site : Ladder Wildcard Players with 200 wins on the region’s host ladder (“Americas” server for WCS America and “Europe” server for WCS Europe) in this and the past season (cumulative between the two Seasons) will be eligible to compete in Ladder Wildcard Qualifiers for all remaining spots without meeting any residency or citizenship requirements. Handbook: AM/EU Ladder Wildcard: players with 200 wins on the region’s host ladder (“Americas” server for WCS America and “Europe” server for WCS Europe) in this or the past season will be eligible to compete in Ladder Wildcard Qualifiers for all remaining spots without meeting any residency or citizenship requirement] Bolded the inconsistent part Ok, I work in law, I am going to break this down for you. It means the same thing and doesn't matter. The spirit of the rule is intact in both wordings.
Maybe less law and more math would be helpful
EDIT: Actually, the handbook statement can be super ambigiously interpreted by itself.

Are you guys with me?! Yes we need them to come and even kill all the Korean fan favourites as well. They can then meet in the final which will be heralded as the worst final of all time. Damn, the worst case scenario would be if one of them meet Jaedong in the finals and beat him 4-0.
That would tragic

Even if the dates were published a month ago, if there is no information to be found on the WCS site a few days before the event, then it's not that uneducated of a guess that blizzard moved the dates without a statement. Just look at patch 2.1, wasn't that supposed to hit before the end of the year?

Sorry I'm late to the party but are they saying you needed 200 wins in the current season? The one that started like a week ago?

That's what they're saying and it's incorrect. This season and the last.

Who said that?
Edit: I think they as in NASL always looked at last or this season. But it's not like the the 21 guys today got 200 wins this season in the last 4 days. That's the sad part. Many NA pros didn't manage 200 wins in season 6.

Thank you all for the fast responses. Just reading I thought it seemed a tad insane to think someone would be practicing for this wildcard (ie: in customs) and also expect them to get 200 wins in a handful of days. Previous + Current seems to make loads more sense.

The official WCS rulebook saysG. AM/EU Ladder Wildcard: players with 200 wins on the region’s host ladder (“Americas” server for WCS America and “Europe” server for WCS Europe) in this or the past season will be eligible to compete in Ladder Wildcard Qualifiers for all remaining spots without meeting any residency or citizenship requirements.

So 2013 Season 3, need 200 wins or 2014 Season 1 need 200 wins right?

Yeah but who ever said you need 200 wins in this season?

No, it's apparently cumulative. This season and the last. The WCS site is a little ambiguous but what we're hearing right now is that it covers both.

Someone on reddit, probably. Or people who want to complain about Blizzard and find stupid rules when they're actually not too stupid.

To be fair to the admin, its not the best written rule ever. It would be better to say "previous season" rather than "past season" and likely should further illuminate that the number of wins should be combined. Then again, I think Blizzard assumed it was a no brainer rule and every single person who was trying out would have at least 200 wins of a full season or more.

Appearantly now they will add up the wins from both seasons, so 150 last season and 50 this season will be enough, but I think they planned 200 in one season at the start.

I don't think anyone said you need it in this season. But the WCS site makes it seem like it's a combination of both seasons and the Handbook seems to say it is one or the other? I don't really know.

... which makes it even more sad that only so few people qualified for this.
